  1. I don't know how the trim levels of the FJ are laid out.....but if you buy the base version, and you just get black steel wheels.....then yes, I would prefer that the vehicle come with $2K rims.....that if I wanted to, I could replace with steel beadlocks for the few times I go off-roading......and not have to drive all around town with black steelies. Those wheels made the FJ look so cheap compared to all the other vehicles in the test.
  2. Is that supposed to make it look more like a rock crawler?? It did get beat out by a Nissan Frontier and Jeep GC for off-roading......and those both had aluminum rims.

    From Allpar: http://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/avenger.htmlAllpar knows!
  4. I would say there is also a big difference between hitting a concrete block, and a deformable barrier.
  5. Have you seen the FJ Cruiser in the latest C&D? Nice rims: :toiletpaper:
  6. I prefer the Stealth R/T / 3000GT
  7. Charger SRT-8 CTS-V How can a $50K+ CTS-V have such cheap looking seats?? It must not be worth the money?? P.S. Is that a 5.25 floppy drive in the CTS-V ???
  8. Besides, who needs a fancy interior when you can't even get your new LR3 out of the mud?? Story
  9. Yeah, but do they care enough to quit buying them?
  10. A hollow sounding or hard dash does not instantly make something an inferior product. You have to consider the whole package. In the Grand Cherokee's case.....it is the best off road SUV in it's class and price range. Maybe the interior is not as fancy as some Lexus SUV.....but it sure will kick it's ass off-road! I may have knocked on my dash 1 time in the two years I've had the car.....yeah, it felt solid.....but I haven't had the urge to knock on it again since then.
  11. I know. What do these people do?.......sleep on their dashboards?? I don't understand the obsession either. However, one thing I don't like is extremely grained plastics. We know it's plastic.....it does not have to look like leather. That's one thing I like about my 300. The dash is lightly grianed (soft touch) plastic, but the palstic covers on the pillars are grained like a woven looking material. I'm glad they didn't try to put fake leather grained plastic everywhere.
  12. Don't have any real life experience with one, but here are a couple reviews: So, it looks like a good fit and finish, with nice looking hard plastic on the dash. I guess this vehicle got past the new rubberized soft-touch treatment that Chrysler has employed as of late.
  13. The CTS-V costs $50,675. No way is $43K considered the same "range". The Charger is also a larger car, and the V doesn't offer an auto tranny. People that spend $40K - $50K on a large vehicle would probably want the option of an auto tranny.......and before you say it....yes, the Charger probably should have had the option for a stick. However, if you want a 400 HP GM performance vehicle with a stick.....why not buy a Corvette....and save some money?
  14. If this interferes with any of the radio stations that I listen to, or with my FM transmitter for my mp3 player.........I'm going to sue Honda!!
  15. I bet this guy doesn't know that the MINI has a Chrysler engine. The Magnum is only down 11% from last year. It sold 5,248 last Feb, and 4,694 this Feb. Seems pretty normal/steady to me?
  16. Yes, they are......in record numbers: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...?showtopic=6616 I don't think they are making deals on the V6's either.
  17. Wow, that's pretty weak. You should have just gone ahead and touched them. You would have found out that pretty much everything above the knees is made of a soft touch rubbery material, and that it's pretty solid. But, I guess it was just much easier to come on a message board and complain instead of just touching a dash of a car that you were actually sitting in?

  19. Yep....GM is just closing up shop in the US.
  20. And there you have it.....now there is a Chrysler Group large SUV for everyone! "Hate the Durango?....try an Aspen. Liked the Durango to begin with?, why don't you have one?.....we went through all this trouble to make the Aspen!"
  21. .....and by that, you mean not at least $10K more?? I don't know, the CTS-V doesn't look quite $10K more to me: .....and you can't even get a base 215 HP 5 Series for less than the 425 HP 300C SRT-8!

  23. And $$ is the key word in INVEST. When you have money coming out of your nose (due to your minimal investment in America), it's easy to INVEST in better technologies and expensive equipment.
