  1. They did not "conveniently leave out" Ford's PAG brands.....just as they didn't conveniently add Lexus to the Toyota number of 49.9%. You can read the PDF here if you want the factual breakdown: http://levelfieldinstitute.org/docs/lfi-domestic-content.pdf . Then you won't have to include a bunch of comments that are meant to skew the facts to match your opinion. The numbers you posted are within a percentage point of the ones from the Level Field Institute, and that's because they didn't have 2006 info included. What you posted actually backs up the numbers from the LFI.
  2. O.K., I will allow you to refute the facts from that website, because you seem convinced that there is "another side" to the argument. Here's one: O.K., now you post about how that's not true:
  3. You don't hear anything bad about Subarus, because you don't hear much about Subarus. A guy at work is on at least his second new one, he really seems to like them, yet they are in the shop quite often. His latest one was in shop only after a few months for hesitation and rough idle. I don't know if the problem was fixed. He states that an automoblie is just an appliance to him, and that the Subaru is a good appliance.....despite it being in the shop all the time. People buy Subarus to be different.....and they don't want to admit that their choice of a "different" car was a bad choice.....so they don't tell you about the bad experiences with the car.
  4. So you are saying to scrap the idea of building it on a current platform, and create a brand new platform that doesn't exist yet.....and that will somehow make the business case to build the car??
  5. ....or they could be FACTS, based an actual data.
  6. Not a big deal. You don't really use the clutch on the highway.
  7. Japan has won! People think Subaru is reliable just because they are Japanese. JD Power, however, does not agree:
  8. Looks about the same to me: But I don't have any pictures of it at a cruise night.
  9. I saw a BLACK Compass driving around with MFG plates. The color black might just be it's saving grace. It looked pretty nice.
  10. http://www.levelfieldinstitute.org/
  11. Damn! this thing really looks ready for the street. And I bet wherever you go, there will always be people crowded around you staring! The rest are HERE
  12. 70's "copy" or not.....this thing just looks wicked out in the public. It's a car you could take from the dealer's lot....put it into a car show....and probably win: More awesome pics HERE
  13. Not according to Toyota. Only theirs should still be running.
  14. I will hate this thing until they build a new Esprit! One of my most favoritest cars ever :
  15. I like the concept of the Caliber, and I think it looks pretty cool and different.......but I think they have made a big mistake in only offering the CVT on the R/T instead of a regular automatic (and hopefully, it would have been a 5-speed). The manual will help, and is a must for Europe. I just got an awesome idea: Since they will be making a Euro version Caliber with stick, a tighter suspension, and more steering feedback (to suit European tastes).....they should sell that version here as some type of special edition under the SRT-4! If DCX does this, then I will be expecting a check in the mail! Are there any vehicles with a CVT that are praised for their performance? Seems like a good concept for possibly getting better mileage and performance.....but I don't think the technology is quite there yet.
  16. Also, if you get the 6 disc changer, you can hold up to 4.2 gig of mp3's on those discs.....because the radio will play them.
  17. Wait till the '08s come out. They could/will have some combination of the new 3.8L, the new 4.0L, and the current (maybe refined)3.5L. There is also a rumor of a new engine codenamed Phoenix, possibly based off the old 3.8L. These will most likely be paired with 6 speed transmissions.
  18. He could have done better:
  19. Yet another misconception, Subaru actually has horrible quality. They just get a free pass because they are Japanese.....that's how deep the Japanese quality "lie" has been engrained! Source: JD Power initial quality survey.
  20. I'm gonna go with "the money they offered was far and away so much higher that they couldnt refuse." Toyota obviously has much more cash to burn than any other automaker on the planet. Brooks and Done should have declined the sponsorship due to personal reasons. Their fan base should boycott them just like people did to the Dixie Chicks, because what they are supporting is as unAmerican as what the Chixie Dicks did! When southern country folk lose faith in this country and it's products, then it is all over.....because the yuppie/hippie leftists have throw in the towel many years ago.
  21. I'd rather have a T-Rex: http://www.go-t-rex.com/
  22. This is just sad. I wonder how many songs these guys have about riding around in their Toyota pickups when they were young?
  23. This is the clincher though: :rotflmao:
  24. ....or we call them sciguy, ToyoGuy, and Polish Kris! :rotflmao: You guys know I'm just messing with you.....plus I know you can take it.
