  1. My guess is that if sales continue to be dissapointing (but I'm sure they will start to take off), they will probably introduce the Compass Rallye that is currently only available in the UK: See this article for explination of the UK only Compass Rallye: http://www.autoblog.com/2006/09/12/jeep-co...lye-for-the-uk/
  2. Please fondle the dashboard and let us know how hard or soft it feels.....because that's what really makes a car! :AH-HA_wink:
  3. Sure, why not. They'll build one plant here.....send all the assemblies over from China....and have "American built cars".........while the Big 3 "continues to outsource" to Mexico and overseas. In fact.....Geely will more American than the Big 3...."because, at least they are building plants in America". Then we will not feel ashamed to buy this Chinese crap. It's foolproof......just see: Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Kia, and Hyundai.
  4. Roof rack IS optional:
  5. Mommy....can we take the Magnum??
  6. I still like the old one better. I think the old front end looks more modern than the new one: Old: New:
  7. There it is again. Another statement that is completely false. Just look at the chart I posted earlier in the thread: Here are the numbers through August: Dodge Ram - 2005: 283,310 2006: 250,663 Total Change: -32,647 Ford F-Series - 2005: 625,047 2006: 545,963 Total Change: -79,084 Chevy Silverado - 2005: 570,860 2006: 467,040 Total Change: -103,820 Unless you meant that the Ram's sales were fading.....just as all other automakers truck sales were fading (due to gas prices)??
  8. You think a car that came out in 2001 is going to have the same refinement as a car that came out in 2004? The PT Cruiser platform is pretty old, and will be replaced very soon. However it is still one the top 5 selling compacts. Chrysler is not relying on trucks. They just have alot of new products coming out, to replace the aging products: brand new Sebring and Avenger midsizers, brand new compacts Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot, and brand new mid-size SUV's in the Dodge Nitro, new Jeep Liberty, and also a brand new Wrangler. Plus, the biggest thing is just off the horizon.....the new minivans! Chrysler is selling alot of 300/Chargers because they are the only "newer" vehicles that Chrysler has out right now....not counting trucks and Jeeps. Caliber sales have taken off already.
  9. From a thread about August 2006 sales on the froum at Allpar: http://www.allpar.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=82731 and yes, the guy who made it knows that there are some typos.
  10. Nor is Chrysler trying to compete directly with Cadillac or Lincoln. I would say Chrysler competes with Buick at the most. Their price points support that. I would say the regular Yukon is a fair target, and the Denali version is way more expensive than any Aspen.
  11. I'm in no way trying to claim that Chrysler has an LX in the "top 20" selling vehicles. Chrysler has always historically had a lower market share than Ford or GM. I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is people making uninformed statements about how certain vehicles are "no longer selling", when they are actually selling more than the previous model year. Comparing Chrysler's market share to the rest of the Big 3, or the Asians, is apples to oranges. The fact is, the LX's are on a pace to sell over 50K more combined than last year....due to the Charger fully coming online, no doubt. C'mon.....the top 7 selling "cars" are trucks and America's Japanese love children.
  12. To those who still claim that the 300 and other LX's were a fad that would end after 3-6 months.......you were, and still are, wrong! The Magnum may have become a niche vehicle, but the Charger has certainly made up for it. I say ditch the Magnum, and make room for the Challenger! See the section on LX vehicles. This is "year to date" sales as of August.
  13. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=37...2948425&q=mopar
  14. I don't know....by looking at the exteriors, the Chrysler twins seem to have just as much different as the GM twins: & = & Hoods, grilles, bumpers, and lights. The 900's front fenders might be considered different because they have a different cutout for the headlights. The 900's are not as differentiated as some of you would like to think. I also know 4 people that own Durangos......and they love them. No problems with any of them!
  15. I love how everyone makes fun of the Aspen for being a upscale Durango. & = & While I agree the 900's are nicer.....they are also brand new. The Aspen was made off the old Durango platform. It will fill the niche of a more upscale Chrysler Group SUV than Dodge can (and should) provide. Maybe the next gen can be designed from the beginning to have a more differentiated Aspen and Durango.
  16. I'm pretty sure it's bigger than both. It's based on the next gen Jeep Liberty platform.....which has grown in size. I think a bigger Jeep Liberty would be bigger than an Equinox.
  17. Looks pretty cool.....but I wish it looked more like this drawing: I think the drawing has less of the dog-leg kick up, and a slicker transition of the back glass into the rear decklid. The drawing also looks longer and lower slung.....as concept drawings usually do.
  18. Plus, how long will a Diesel powertrain last compared to a hybrid powertrain??
  19. but I think we've seen them before on a similar car:
  20. Pretty sweet! I like how the grille is more upright than on some of the more recent Mercs.
  21. I can't believe their "official" website has the same cheap translations that you get on the instructions for the numerous cheap pieces of plastic crap that China sells in dollar stores. Example: Better Example: Hope that "torch" doesn't start any fires! http://www.gwm.com.cn/eng/html/product/hover_intro.asp And the very sad thing is that Americans will buy it....and probably even claim it's better than domestic.
  22. They forgot the asterisk.
  23. The 300 has been flawless. I have almost 50K miles on it already.
