  1. You got the freight train part right though!! I think they were going more for this look:
  2. Umm.....it kinda of is a new one....isn't it? What other bland retro muscle cars are there (or have there been), other than the Mustang and upcoming Camaro?
  3. Uhhh....the headlights are the same except that the drag car's outer ring of the "halo" light is chrome instead of painted gray.
  4. The Nitro suspension shares nothing in common with the current Liberty. The relationship with the next Liberty remains to be seen:
  5. Chrysler's SEMA surprise: 392 HEMI Dodge Challenger Super Stock While in the past automakers have always used SEMA to display the individual customizations that can be applied to their production vehicles, Dodge is doing something different this year. For what it claims to be the first time ever, the company has unveiled a concept vehicle that has been customized specifically for the SEMA show. Based on the Dodge Challenger Concept that debuted at the 2006 Detroit auto show, the Dodge Challenger Super Stock Concept is a one-off concept built to commemorate the original HEMI 392 engine, as well as showcase Mopar's new 392 HEMI crate engine. The new 392 can be ordered in one of three variations: a carbureted version that produces 540 horsepower and 490 ft-lbs. of torque, a EFI-version that makes 525 horsepower and 510 ft-lbs. of torque, and a long block version. While Chrysler's press release doesn't indicate which engine the Challenger SS Concept is using, our bet is on the carbureted version. We'll have more details along with lives shots of the car soon, but for now check out more high-resolution pics and Chrysler's press release after the jump. 6. Make up your minds Edmunds?

  9. My 300 Touring is faster than your Fivehundred!
  10. Most brand new Chrysler vehicles will be taking off slowly. If you go to a Jeep dealership, you can get a Liberty cheaper than you get a Compass right now. Or you could go to a Dodge dealership and get a Ram, Dakota, or Durango, cheaper with all of the rebates on "gas guzzelers".
  11. The Caliber made a different list:
  12. I don't get the comment on plastic. The interiors are "all plastic" on all of the pictured dashes. The only way not to be "all plastic" is to use metal, wood or cloth/leather.....and none of the pictured dashes incorporates any of those materials (except maybe the Suzuki could have a real metal trim piece, but most likely it's plastic too)......and personally, I could do without wood on any modern vehicle......at least any one under $125,000, or not named Rolls Royce. All of the comments about the interior not having "any design" because they are angular and boxy.....are just personal opinions. CG interiors being angular and boxy are their current signature design, and are also different from most of what's currently out there. Beside, why would they put a soft, swoopy, bubbly interior in a car with an angular exterior?? You Compass haters don't have to take my word for it. The Compass made two top 5 "Most Popular" lists on Yahoo Autos. People are interested in it, even if you're not:
  13. The trim looks like it was made out of authentic bocce ball material:
  14. I figured Suzuki would have some cheap little AWD $h!box....but I didn't feel like checking. The Suzuki is classified by the EPA as a "Small Wagon", while the Compass is classified as a "Four Wheel Drive SUV".
  15. Add the power group to the Compass, and you get power everything and A/C, and you are up to $17,830 on the Jeep website. Add ABS (standard on the Compass, as is ESP), and side curtain airbags (again, standard on the Compass), and you are up to $17,265 for an HHR.....which is not available in a 4x4 configuration. Not so different now....and you even compared a wagon to a crossover or cute ute.
  16. The Charger has taken away some Magnum, and possibly even some 300 sales.....so you can't exclude the Charger's sales.....and as a result, overall LX sales are up this year. Fleet sales are still sales, and the increases are not that big. It just proves how desirable and reliable the vehicles are.
  17. Turbo is just making things up. LX sales are up 24% over last year. I would hardly say that the LX's qualify as "obviously not as desirable since the newness has worn off". I like how everyone is trying to convince themselves that the LX sales are fading. You guys are worse than the auto mags who continue to drone on about "Japanese quality". I guess if you say it enough, it will become a fact......even though the numbers will continue to tell the real truth.
  18. OK....I'll agree when you show me another 4x4 of a similar size that can be purchased for $17K with power locks and windows. If you don't want the 4x4, then the price drops to $15K for the 4x2. How many other 4x2 CUV's can you buy for $15K?
  19. This is the base model "4x4" version, which MSRP's for $17,175. I don't think there are any other AWD or lockable AWD/"4x4" vehicles that can be had for $17K or under. Argue all you want about how ugly you think it is, but I know people that think it looks good, and are willing to purchase one to be different. Jeep will be catering to people that like the features but think this vehicle is ugly, with the Patriot.
  20. This question is a joke, right? Dodge Charger SRT-8: 425 HP MSRP: $35,920 Dodge Magnum SRT-8 425 HP MSRP: $37,320 Chrysler 300 SRT-8: 425 HP MSRP: $40,420 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8: 420 HP MSRP: $39,700 (Faster than a $90,000 Porsche Cayenne) These cars' MSRP's are not much higer than their regular versions, and you get a ton more power and suspension enhancements. The dealers may be marking these vehicles up quite a bit.....but they will only get what people are willing to pay. And I believe you can fully disable ESP/Traction Control on the Charger SRT-8. The only vehicle not really worthy of the SRT name is the Crossfire SRT-6. While it is fast, there are other vehicles that are cheaper, that are just as fast, if not faster.
  21. Update 10/20 It looks like the new Liberty may have a type of retractable roof: 3/4 of the way down on the page http://www.allpar.com/trucks/jeep/liberty-2008.html
  22. :rotflmao:
  23. Nitro video: http://www.cartv.com/content/research/chan...MAKE_VCH/Dodge/
  24. Wrong again!! ...just making up sales figures?......as usual. Actual Sales numbers for the LX lineup for September 2006: Total LX sales are up 24% for the year.
