  1. I'm pretty sure the '07 TB SS will be a complete carryover, but I'm secretly hoping for the new 6L80 trans. Anyone have any thoughts?
  2. Actually, I think that story was the first time I've the heard names Statesman and Buick stuck together. Perhaps it's a solid indication that Holden will be exporting them to NA for Buick, whether it's called Statesman or not.
  3. The Holden Statesman was always on. The Impala (and I really hope it's called Impala) is on as well. Don't know if there's going to be a Monte Carlo...nothing in the pipeline yet. You've got your theory....I've got mine.
  4. False? Hardly. I think of it as advancing the ball.
  5. I suppose it's concievable. But I'll tell you something, it would have the be EXTREMELY quiet work, since no one who would be working on such a program knows anything about it.
  6. It depends on what you call a blatant lie..more like having a clear agenda, I'd say. Lutz is trying to do the right thing for GM. Some have started to get cold feet on some of these RWD programs. My opinion is that this is Lutz's way of getting some momentum going again. If someone were confident in his own position...would he be willing to blow some political capitol on creating some energy? Sure, I could see it happening.
  7. I've been carefully considering Bob Lutz's recent comments on Zeta and the GTO. What follows is part fact and part opinion. But it's my take. I've doublechecked several sources over the past couple of days, and as of yet, there is simply NO indication that Pontiac's G8 and GTO programs have been restarted, since their cancellations over a year ago. So what are these GTO comments really about? My opinion, the "Camaro Effect". Lutz saw how absolutely fervent, Camaro enthusiasts were about their car. That's me and you bub. He was able to effectively direct our intensity - in order to bludgeon bloody - the GM decision making process, until they finally acquiesced to a new Camaro. Right now, as it appears to me, GM has started to back away from some of the previous Zeta programs that were being worked on or considered. The aforementioned Pontiac GP replacement and GTO, Velite, even the 'sure thing' RWD Impala is taking sniper fire regarding the wisdom of going RWD. Guess which side of the fence Bob sits on, regarding this matter? He's one of us. Soooo...... Go to Geneva. Tell the press that the GTO is not only back on...it wasn't ever really that cancelled. Get everyone waiting/expecting/demanding it, get the buzz going and sit back and let the energy coalesce. It sure makes it tougher for the Board to not cough up these programs now...or at least that's what I think. Geeze, brilliant! __________________
  8. Personally, I think the GTP should be the GT. And the GTP should get a level of serious development comparable to Pontiac's effort with the GP GXP.
  9. Thank you nikivee!
  10. Wrong. The rear of it is Sigma (from an STS), the front is Zeta.
  11. Velite's rear looks like Sigma to me, which is what I believe it is.
  12. Where was that? Was that the one with the 4x4 suspension?
  13. I agree, the front end styling is quite bizarre IMO - and not in a good way. I think the S10 was sooo much better looking.
  14. Really? Just my own personal opinion, but I think it looks weird.
  15. The Colorado needs a new front fascia, and better (at least better sounding ), engines.
  16. That is VERY cool mightymouse. I really like those year Malibu's as well. My problem is, I can't find one with solid rear frame rails out here.
  17. You do plenty of stuff right, Josh.....
  18. Eminent domain is a very controversial subject. It has..and continues to be... abused by many local governments. I'm not familiar with Ohio law on this subject, but I would imagine a company as large as GM could literally bankrupt a town like Moraine with court costs, if pushed to that. And Moraine would deserve it under such circumstances. Remember, if a local government has the power to seize someones plant...they can just as easily seize YOUR house if they ever got the wild hair up theit butt to take it. This is still America, you know. Private poperty rights should be respected,
  19. Maybe one possibility. Mostly speculation but, imagine a G8 (boy I hate that name) sedan...with a top performance version called GTO, (kind of like an SRT-8 Charger).
  20. I'd say a this very moment, it doesn't look very good for the GTO. But we'll see, hopefully things might change.
  21. Huh? That's not how eminent domain works Comrade Lenin.
  22. Which one of BL's comments make you think that GTO will become a 3 series type car?
  23. Dude, it sounds like you memorize every syllable that Scott utters.
