I am almost 51 and I don't expect this technology to be widespread during my lifetime. The cost to develop the infrastructure would be trillions of dollars.

Hyundai News:Hyundai To Redesign Current Sonata Due To Poor Sales Start
ehaase replied to William Maley's topic in Hyundai
I would not have purchased the previous Sonata, but I would purchase the current one. My tastes are very conservative. -
The Acenir is stunning. The best Buick sedan in decades. Enough for me no longer to wonder why Buick survived.

I saw an ATS on the street yesterday. It is a very attractive car, if I could afford a $40,000 car and wanted only a 10 cubic foot trunk.

Chevrolet News:Rumorpile: End of the Line For Chevrolet SS, RHD Camaro
ehaase replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
The main purpose of selling the SS was to help out Holden. I really don't see the need for an Alpha platform replacement for the SS. I don't think there's much demand for mainstream RWD sedans beyond the Dodge Charger.- 10 replies

Chevrolet News:Rumorpile: End of the Line For Chevrolet SS, RHD Camaro
ehaase replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
Outside of Camaro and Corvette, anyone wanting a RWD GM car must buy Cadillac. I never thought GM would build an Alpha platform replacement for the SS. I do think that Holden badged Opels for Australia will flop.- 10 replies

Scion iM Concept Released Ahead of LA Auto Show: Comments
ehaase replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in LA Auto Show
I like it and hope it does well against the less reliable Golf and Focus hatchbacks. -
I agree that the CTS V sport and ATS-V would have been better with the 6.2L V6, but apparently affluent buyers are more impressed with turbo V6's than V8's. I asked the question on Autoline After Hours months ago, and that was the response the Cadillac spokesman gave.

Scion News: Scion Bringing Two New Models To New York

My understanding is that Scion is getting the Auris and a 4 door sedan version of the Toyota Yaris (that will be based on the Mazda 2).- 2 replies

Cadillac News: Spying: The Next Cadillac SRX or XT5
ehaase replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
The plan makes sense to me because that XT5 and the Escalade will probably be the biggest money makers Cadillac will have for several years. -
Cadillac News: Spying: The Next Cadillac SRX or XT5
ehaase replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
I think this platform (C1xx or Chi) will have a LWB and SWB version. The LWB will replace the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse and maybe a new large Cadillac crossover. The SWB will replace the GMC Acadia and Cadillac SRX (to be renamed XT5). This C1xx platform will also replace the Epsilon platform for cars. There is a smaller D1xx platform that will replace Delta and be used for crossovers. What is unclear now is whether Equinox will go to the SWB C1xx or go to the D1xx platform. If Equinox went to the SBW C1xx, then there would be a new Chevrolet on D1xx. I guess the GMC Terrain, Buick Envision, and maybe a new small Cadillac would go on D1xx. This is just my understanding which could be quite wrong. -
Cadillac News: Cadillac's New Boss Talks About the Future
ehaase replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Many believe Cadillac would have better off developing crossovers larger and smaller than the SRX than spending so much money developing these all these new sedans. I hope Cadillac succeeds; I guess we will know in 5 to 10 years. I wish Cadillac had developed a Zeta based replacement for the DTS about 10 years ago instead of doing the CTS. -
2014 Chevy Impala LT 2.5 (update 2014 Impala LT 2.4 Eco and 3.6)
ehaase replied to regfootball's topic in Reader Reviews
I think of the 4 cylinder Impala as the modern version of a 1960's Impala with an inline six and Powerglide. However, the 4 cylinder Impala isn't much cheaper than a Taurus SE with the 290 hp V6. The 2.5 cylinder Impala would make more sense to me if it were about $3,000 cheaper. Also, its fuel economy should be only about 1 mpg less than the Malibu's. -
2014 Chevy Impala LT 2.5 (update 2014 Impala LT 2.4 Eco and 3.6)
ehaase replied to regfootball's topic in Reader Reviews
With GM developing a larger Malibu debuting in the next year or two, I wouldn't be surprised if this generation of Impala is the last one. -
Scion News: Rumorpile: What To Expect In Scion's Lineup
ehaase replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
I would make the FR-S the new Celica. I am happy to see the Auris may come to the U.S., even if sold as a Scion. I would like to see more C class hatchbacks (and wagons too). The Focus hatchback needs some competition. -
Looking at the sales figures, I think Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Buick each have one sedan too many and one crossover too few. There's just not much consumer interest in most GM cars.

Buick News: Buick Envision Teased, Premieres In China Later This Year
ehaase replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
AH-HA said on GMI this won't be made in the U.S. -
10 years from now, I think that Jeep, Ram, Maserati, and Ferrari will be the only survivors of this company. I don't think Alfa Romeo will be any more successful than the new RWD Cadillacs are. I don't think the new 200 will be any more successful than the Dart. CAFE eventually will kill the Hemi powered Chargers and Challengers.

Sales of the ATS and CTS are disappointing. How much longer will Cadillac invest billions trying to compete with Mercedes and BMW? I think Cadillac should consider having 3 crossovers (one smaller than the SRX plus a 3 row larger than the SRX) plus the Escalade because that's what luxury buyers (not me personally) appear to want.

The 2015 Sonata, at 106 cubic feet, is roomier than the Impala at 105 cubic feet. The Impala does have a larger trunk.
