  1. Will a RWD Chevrolet Alpha sedan make you as happy as the Zeta Impala would have?
  2. Well, you fellows wanted a RWD Chevrolet sedan. You'll get it, but it will be Alpha, not Zeta.
  3. Interesting video on Ford's new engine technology - Ecoboost - that will be used in the Explorer.
  4. ehaase

    Pictures!

You look very physically fit now.
  5. I am glad that GM has released the pictures, but now I wish they would give definite answers as to the engines.
  6. Beautiful exterior, disgusting interior.
  7. GM could still use the 6.2L V8 in large Cadillacs and Buicks, and there is that DOHC version that was discussed in the Union documents.
  8. Having received my driver's license in 1980, I can assure you that the world will not end if the average car takes 13 seconds to go from 0 to 60. I remember driving a late 1970's Malibu with a 3.3L V6 that took about 20 seconds to go 0 to 60. It wasn't fun, but you can survive and be happy.
  9. As mid size FWD sedans have gotten larger over the past few years, with the Accord now a full size car, I don't think that there is much of a market for a FWD Chevrolet sedan larger than the Epsilon II Malibu will be. I think the larger car market has shifted to trucks and crossovers. The current Impala is popular only because it is cheap, and an Epsilon II Impala would be more expensive. I think that Impala should have been put on Zeta as a sedan companion to the Camaro, more expensive and lower volume than the current Impala.
  10. Those who ridiculed Evok (whom I greatly miss) for that thread will eat their words. With 35 mpg CAFE about to become law, even V6's will be rare in 10 years.
  11. One of my favorite cars from that era was the Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance, which had an even swankier interior than this one. I loved the big Cadillacs of that era.
  12. I would only consider the minivans or anything with a Hemi. The rest of the lineup, except for Jeeps, are duds.
  13. Overcapacity is one of the largest problems in the auto industry. Too many cars chasing too few buyers.
  14. As far as I am concerned, this is the first real Pontiac in over 25 years. This is a magnificent automobile.
  15. Their products aren't that old. Americans are just fed up with Ford because of all transmission problems, blown head gaskets, Explorer tires, Pinto, etc. The chickens have come home to roost. I love my Crown Victoria, but I think Ford's future is questionable now.
  16. I am mostly curious about this large 2010 Chevrolet 4 door notchback. Is this going to be a large FWD family car to compete against the Taurus, taking the place of the current Impala, while the Zeta Impala is a more performance car?
  17. I always enjoy reading your perspectives on the metropolitan areas in the U.S. You told me some things that were helpful when I went to Southern California last year.
  18. The problem with Marietta is the commute on I-75.
  19. I would only move to Atlanta if I could afford to live in Buckhead, Dunwoody, Midtown, North Fulton County, the area around Emory University, or the neighborhoods close to downtown. I would not want to live in Gwinnett, Cobb, or any of the counties south and west of Atlanta.
  20. I am glad that the Enclave is doing well, but I would have preferred a new Estate Wagon myself.
  21. At least one of these Epsilon II's, maybe not the Aura, need to match the Accord's 106 cubic feet space in interior room, and I agree with Mule that there should be a trunk with at least 17 cubic feet.
  22. If it were up to me, Chrysler's SUV lineup would be cut back to Jeep Patriot, Grand Cherokee, and Wrangler; Dodge Journey and Durango (sharing the Grand Cherokee platform); and a Chrysler version of the Journey. I would definitely keep the Magnum, but make it more of a traditional wagon. I'd drop the Compass, Liberty/Nitro, and the body on frame SUV's.
  23. It probably doesn't mean any of that. From what I have read, Press is a master salesman who knows how to have good relations with dealers. He still has to sell the same junk Chrysler has now.
  24. Will this company be around in 5 years?
  25. The 1971 to 1976 B and C bodies. Especially the wagons with the clamshell tailgate.
