  1. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com January 4, 2013 Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the first Cheers & Gears Interactive Review of 2013: The 2013 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4x4. This particular Tacoma stickers at $30,580 (originally $31,005, but Toyota takes off $425.00 due to value package) thanks to the SR5 Extra Value package, towing package, an optional radio with USB and AUX, running boards, and a few odds and ends. Power comes from a 4.0L V6 producing 236 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. That is sent through a five-speed automatic down to either the rear or all four wheels thanks to a part-time 4WD system. Positives The 4.0L V6 has a surprising amount of low end grunt and gets up to speed at a surprising rate. 4WD system is quick to engage and disengage. Very comfortable and well-built interior Negatives I forgot how bouncy a truck's ride can be. The Tacoma is a prime example of this. 16 City/21 Highway/18 Combined is the EPA rating for the Tacoma's V6. The full-size F-150 when equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost is only one MPG off in the city and combined, and matches the highway. I have the Tacoma until January 10th and will update as my time goes on. In the meantime, drop your questions and I'll do my best to answer them. William Maley is a staff writer for Cheers & Gears. In 2013, Porsche will continue to roll out additional new models of the 7th generation 911, including the new Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S, which go on sale this month and will be joined in March by the new Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S Cabriolet. "Not only did we launch the all-new, seventh-generation 911, the completely redesigned Boxster and our first diesel model, we set records in nearly all aspects of our business, achieving top-tier results in many high-ranking industry quality and customer satisfaction studies while growing our share in the luxury market. Given that we achieved this with only a half-year of sales of the new Boxster and without any Cayman production, we are optimistic about the prospect of another successful year in 2013. We hope to solidify our position as the world's strongest Porsche market and we look forward to the introduction of several new products in 2013, including the Cayenne Turbo S and Cayman this spring."

But for a small subset of Chevrolet dealers, the cost of selling the Volt and its pricey additional tool and equipment costs are causing them to stop selling the Volt. A new report from Automotive News says that a small number of dealers have decided to stop selling the Volt due to the specialized equipment costs and GM requiring a more significant investment in the near future, and slow sales not being able to recuperate those investments. Last year, 2,614 Chevrolet dealers were certified to sell the Volt (out of 3,079 dealerships). 70% of Volt sales came from 300 highest-volume dealers – leaving the remaining 2,314 dealerships to fight for the remaining 30 percent. "Going forward, the profitability would be really hard for us to justify the expense of the repair tools," said Allyn Barnard, owner of Jim Barnard Chevrolet in Churchville, New York. The dealer only sold five Volts last year. Other dealers are toughing it out. John Holt, owner of John Holt Chevrolet-Cadillac in Chickasha, Oklahoma says even though he has sold five Volts last year, he'll be sticking with the Volt partly due to the new Cadillac ELR coming out. "I've heard that a lot of the non-metro dealers have opted out" of the certified Volt program said Holt. "But with the new Cadillac coming, I figured I'd be foolish not to buy the damn $5,100 tool."
