  1. True story: My brother drilled a Chevette in the B-plr with his 1100F Honda... rolled the car, driver was ejected from passenger window, the car rolled over, crushed the driver. My brother cleared the handlebars and roof line just before impact, skipped down the road on his helmet, and suffered only a broken arm. No helmet, no f*cking brain...God's natural selection process in effect.
  2. Good point. I'm trying to fix this problem....
  3. Jambs will get done later, with much care, by me. If want want some thingsdone right, you gotta do'em yourself... This is a low budget car, I have like $3500 into it. Paint was done by Maaco in Ferndale...8 1/2 mile & Woodward It's all in the prepwork- They last few days have been real dry, and perfect for painting, they really did a first class job. only a tiny bit on my exhaust & tire. I can't wait for the sun to hit it...It looks like bright red even in the dark!
  4. me too- that's no poser, this one is from the Chevy Race Shop in Texas, high compression BB, toilet bowl sized dominator carb, no mufflers...
  5. The list is being updated and refined-for now, its sthuper sthecret... If any one has info on GM Experimental Prototypes that are now owned by private parties, please let me know asap...
  6. I've read it all, it's black and white The spectrum made a shade I like. The crimson rays are ruby bright Technicolor light. Red! I want red, there's no substitute for red. Red! Paint it red, green ain't mean compared to red. You don't know what it does to me, My crimson intensity I'm haunted by the mystery, The mystey of red. Red knocks 'em dead, Some like it hot, I like it read. Red is my lover, got it covered Red is my number, sure as a coma Red is my drummer, and I hear red thunder Move over brother, Red's a motherfu...(cker) (Red! Red!) Thats' what I said... (Red! Red!) Come on to bed (Red! Red!) Gimme' that expensive spread.. Hagar... I found out alot about how many formulas of red are out there... In the 80's, GM challenged PPG to come up with a red that caught light in a special way...brighter than Porsche Guard's red. GM was not happy with PPG's best, and kept experimenting til they came up with Torch Red... I think it's best before today I picked it up! Wait til my trim goes back on, and the sun comes out!
  7. I have not seen XP-75, I have been told it has a private owner...Almost every car here is owned by GM. The LeSabre up close is like an M.C. Escher drawing, really, like a puzzle. It seems 3 feet high, 10 wide, at least 25 long. The image event home page reveals some cool Camaro unveiling pics from Texas as well
  8. First of many to come no doubt.... The Solstice is not an only child.
  9. My dad has a 97 Yukon GT with 60,000 miles....White with dark blue int.. 5.7 L , 3:73, lockers, tow pkg, etc, etc he is 87. I got first dibs.
  10. I have been getting questions about the Heritage Center Here's a taste of GM goodies there, all cars are amazingly cared for, unbelievable condition... They rotate the collection every 4 months or so. Here is a sample - XP-8 lives. http://imageevent.com/face440/gmheritagecenter

    Hmmm

You are better off with a clean, straight body. Weak A-plrs are HUGE trouble, cracking windshields, etc, etc Don't settle.... Buy one cheap, that needs an engine. Good things come those who wait! 1972 wheelbase: 108.0 Width: 74.4 Height: 50.5 Weight: 3310 Engines disp carb HP Torque C/R Add Weight 307 2bbl Roch 200@4600 230@2400 8.5 350 2bbl Roch 165@4000 280@2400 8.5 350 4bbl Roch 200@4400 300@2800 8.5 350 4bbl Roch 255@5600 280@4000 9.0 402 4bbl Roch 240@4400 345@3200 8.5 100lbs? Note: The bhp rating for the 307 is not reasonable. It is probably a gross rating, while the rest being net ratings.
  12. Never saw the '77 in person- but I saw the 63 a buncha times, it lives at the Heritage Center and still has that emblem...likely reused or copied....
  13. Excellent. Way to share...cars are so fun!
  14. That means increased odds that good stuff will start happening....The only thing you can count on is that everything changes.
  15. I want an eyeful, but when I click it wants your password....
  16. It was running a nailhead on Woodward

    ....

  18. I saw a Bentley at taco bell ...and the red camaro concept in the lobby of my building....
  19. It has to do with warranty issues and people melting clutches...if everyone drove them properly, they would offer that combo. Some people should not be allowed to shift! that won't happen either
  20. All G6 models share the same extended floor and underbody structure as the Maxxwith a 112" wheelbase...The RR doors on the sedan don't have cutouts for the RR wheels...The space is already there. Great idea anyway- just 5 years late.
  21. In 1978, the Malibu dropped almost 900 lbs..and about 13" -22" on the wagon. It's brothers were big... This Malibu also has a 108"wheelbase FYI Check out MalibuRacing.com for lots more examples or ideas
  22. Yeah... A likely place.... Pull the RR seat cushion & seat back, and look for wear and/or compression as the tailight wires pass under and thru into the trunk have a short there- find it you will- I/P & tailight same circuit If its not, the door sill trim or screws might be biting the same circuit
  23. The case for niche selling is this: The manufacturer can shorten product life cycles to the point where it can keep a model going for only 18 to 30 months and still make money. If GM can make Kappa work, the optimistic talk goes, it will have a breakthrough car-building process that could stand the industry on its ear....I know what I like, and never met a person that didn't like the sound of a V-8....
  24. Oh yeah...I think red first and silver a year or two after....I even drew some with a 1955 Belair style two tone
