  1. Good move, IMO. Keep it simple. Why? I see no purpose for a GMC minivan especially with the Acadia coming which is more than sufficent. There doesn't need to be a GMC version of every Chevy truck and SUV, GM. This is redundant in more ways than one.
  2. I can't be the only one that thinks that's going to take way too long. Find a platform? What's wrong with a shortened Colorado platform? Like what a regular cab, short bed Colorado would use?
  3. Yes, but I'm not sure of the exact method. I can tell you that DVD-R is the most compatible with DVD players (as opposed to +R or -/+RW).

    Rendezvous

Uh, if anything I think the Enclave is going to boost Buick's status amoung premium brands. -I don't expect it to be priced much higher than the Rendezvous. -It's better looking the 'Vous. It actually looks like a higher-end vehicle. -It's safe to assume it will be of better quality than the 'Vous as far as the interior goes. -It's the first real competitor GM has had to the Lexus RX (I believe the best-seller in its class).
  5. New Rollover Safety Rules on Hold New Federal mandates for greater roof strengthening efforts on the part of auto manufacturers have been put at a standstill by safety advocates who claim that the proposed rules are as weak as the roofs that some vehicles currently have. The rules would go into effect by 2010 at the earliest but manufacturers claim that isn't enough time for them to comply fully. These are the proposed rules: Would extend strength rules to all vehicles under 10,000 pounds; currently only vehicles up to 6,000 pounds are covered. Would require that a vehicle roof withstand a force equal to 2.5 times the vehicle weight while maintaining sufficient head room for a buckled-in average size adult male to avoid being struck -- up from the current 1.5 times. Rewrites testing procedures. Prevents people from filing lawsuits under state laws as long as vehicles met federal standards. Read "Carmakers stall roof rules" @ The Detroit News
  6. GM to Dealers: "No More Full Tank Freebies" [T]he General's laying down the law on dealerships in the latest missive from the bean-counting bureaucrats at the RenCen...by making it clear they'll no longer reimburse dealers for a full of tank of gas upon delivery. Instead, the Detroit-based automaker will be handing the dealership $20 for cars and $30 for trucks -- which if we've calculated correctly, will mean the dealer will be able to pump just over six gallons into a car and ten gallons into a truck without dipping into their own pockets. Editor's Note: You can also find the actual letter to dealers at the link. Read "GM Says To Dealers: No Gas For You!" @ Jalopnik
  7. By no stretch can you call this generation SC a "sports car". It's more a boulevard cruiser, if anything.
  8. You gonna flip it or is this a keeper?
  9. Oh, perfectly understandable then.
  10. So....did you test drive it yet?
  11. Edmunds Evaluation: 2006.5 Kia Optima What Works: Spacious rear seat, surprisingly good interior materials, long list of standard features. What Needs Work: Lack of top-end power from the V6, average driving dynamics. Bottom Line: Forget what you thought you knew about Korean cars. The all-new Optima not only rivals the domestics, but is poised to take on the Japanese. Read "Full Test: 2006.5 Kia Optima" @ Edmunds
  12. Will we see a Mini Z? ^The target. Just as there are two X cars, the X3 and the X5, BMW thinks there is sufficient demand for a Z2-level roadster. A corollary rumor is that a Z6 roadster is also in the works; it would be a rival to Mercedes-Benz SL. BMW isn't giving much information away, but officials do say it would take at least four years to engineer and develop a new roadster. That would hint at a possible 2010 launch for the Z2, one year after BMW plans to introduce a successor to today's Z4. ^The bullet. 13. SC on the Pebble Beach The 2007 SC Pebble Beach Edition features a cream pearlescent exterior paint called Starfire Pearl, with a Pimento Red leather interior and black bird's-eye maple trim. It also includes special chrome badging and 18-inch G-Spider alloy wheels. It can be equipped with either run-flat summer or run-flat all-season tires. Editor's Note: An appropriate edition for a car shaped like a pebble. Read "Lexus Unveils 2007 SC Pebble Beach Edition" @ Edmunds
  14. GMTruckGuy: Truth be told, I would prefer a '99-'04 style but I've found the prices for GTs jump up a bit from there compared to '94-'98s. College student + higher-priced car =
  15. If I were to get a Mustang it'd have to be a GT (V8). I just couldn't drive a V6 Mustang. It just doesn't seem "proper". It'd be like driving a V6 Camaro.
  16. Specifcally a 1994-1998 era GT. The attraction you ask?: -Not a bad-looking thing. -Cheap V8 power. -RWD. -Convertible version (if I was so inclined). -Tons o' aftermarket support. -Relatively easy to find. Of course, this may be one of my (what I fear may become) infamous brief infatutions but at the moment it's looking pretty good to me. Any thoughts?
  17. My condolences.
  18. The following I note as "handsome" as opposed to "sexy" unless otherwise noted: Truck: Avalanche New Sierra Denali Frontier SUV: Tahoe Pathfinder Explorer Range Rover Range Rover Sport 9-7x X-over: CX-7 FX (sexy) Q7 Acadia

Better keep him away from any obese Scottish guys. Congrats, on you newfound fatherhood.
  21. The difference with mouse gestures is you don't have to click anything. You just move the mouse.
  22. Mouse gestures: Moving the mouse/cursor in a certain manner/direction to execute different commands.
  23. I'm pretty sure the Frontier is stamped from the same metal the Colorado is.
  24. Coming Attractions from Japan's Automakers Autoweek has developed a timeline for the release of vehicles from all the Japanese manufacturers (except Isuzu because...well, you know). The chart goes from the 2007 to 2010 model years. There are also more in-depth descriptions for the future Toyota, Lexus, Honda and Acura products. Those can be found at the links located in the right sidebar of the article linked below. Read "Future Products — Asian Brands" @ Autoweek
  25. Well, you can always put the auto Fusion into manual mode.
