  1. You know, trying to rekindle a fight after someone tries to diffuse it is quite childish and trollish. End it now.
  2. Because unless they're wearing SRT badges (and maybe even then) you're going to hear lots of: "I ain't paying that much for a Chrysler!"
  3. Spied: Jeep Scrambler Concept/AEV Brute According to Eric Ridenour, the Jeep Gladiator was axed because it required its own unique platform. A production Jeep truck, if approved, would have to be based on an existing body-on-frame architecture, which brings us to the Wrangler pickup prototype we spotted in Detroit, as it was being transported between two off-site facilities for final assembly work. A Wrangler pickup has been rumored for quite some time, with the name Scrambler mentioned. Read "The Jeep Scrambler: Wrangler-based Pickup" @ Allpar
  4. Nope.
  5. Well, have fun with your uglier, weaker, slower, worse-equipped BMW with this gorgeous interior... ...that you still paid more for. Oh, and it's easy to offer free maintenance when you roll the potential costs into the car's price (just a theory).

  7. Doesn't mean jack if no one's buying them. And lest we forget, the Compass is in a bit of a sales struggle at the moment.
  8. Spied: Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale The standard F430 delivers 490 bhp and the Stradale is believed to have at least 520 horsepower and about 220 lbs less weight. The biggest visible change are the exhaust pipes that got moved up a bit, producing an impressive soundtrack. The microphone that is visible at the exhaust pipes in the photos is there to help Ferrari make it as loud as legal. Read "Ready for launch: Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale spied" @ Leftlane News

  11. SEMA Preview: Ford F-150 FX2 Sport Extreme ...[T]his pickup with pick-up (the 5.4 liter V8 delivers 450hp to be precise, thanks to a Ford racing screw-type supercharger with ceramic-coated headers and Ford Racing side exhausts) could be designed by any die-hard Ford truck man (or woman, I'm sure) just by checking the right boxes on FoMoCo's in-house parts catalog. In addition to some neat little touches to the outside of the truck including a dark billet grille, headlamp treatments, monochromatic paint and "unique wheels" it also sports some neat techie features like headrest mounted video entertainment units for the little 'uns and a line-in on the top of the dashboard -- plus it's got a hard fiberglass tonneau cover to close-up the rear end from the elements. 12. DCX Considering Chrysler Group Sale? DaimlerChrysler reported third quarter earnings today of $686 million in net profit, but its Chrysler Group division dragged down that profit margin by posting a loss of $1.47 billion, a figure that completely erased the gain of $1.24 billion made by Mercedes-Benz. During a presentation today, DaimlerChrysler CFO Bodo Uebber didn't rule out the possibility that the Chrysler Group could be sold off. While far from saying the division has a For Sale on its windshield, Uebber told reporters, "We don't exclude anything here... We will do our analysis. Second, we will talk about measures. And third, we will draw our conclusions." Read "Is the Chrysler Group for sale?" @ Autoblog
  13. And to think, there are people out there that insist Ford is better off than GM.
  14. Couldn't they have used good-looking marble like... or...
  15. Literally...with corn.
  16. Just be on the safe side: Don't let this turn into a giant illegal immigration debate. Thanks.
  17. Don't care for the exterior paint, the diamond stitching on the doors (seats are fine) or the disgusting-looking wood(?). Everything else is fine.
  18. It's very hard to tell I admit but looking real closely at the pictures, there looks to be back seats. The 350Z does not have back seats and Nissan will not make a 350Z with back seats because then that's putting a hurting on the G coupe. Also, the 2007 Z (which looks mostly like the 2006) hasn't even reached dealers yet. They would not be doing a photo shoot of a redesigned, finished product Z this soon. I had always thought that the new Altima sedan looked like a four-door 350Z, so I guess it stands to reason an Altima coupe would look like a two-door 350Z. Nissan all but publicly stated that they were going to make an Altima coupe with this generation so it stands to reason this would be it. We've had brand-new members post new spy photos right here on C&G. It was a set of Chrysler Sebring photos. Just because they're new doesn't mean they don't have credible info. Couple of problems with that theory: -I can guarantee the Z isn't going anywhere. A car that was the best-selling sports car in the country (and still sells in respectable numbers today)? Nissan isn't doing away with that. -I can also say with certainty that the GTR (not going to be called "Skyline") is not going to be priced below $60K. It's expected to have 911 Turbo (beating?) performance at a fraction of the cost but the exclusive platform, engine and other technology means this isn't going to be a cheap car, either.
  19. A certain "Mr. Monte Carlo" would argue that the MC has been dead for damn near 19 years now. :AH-HA_wink:
  20. Silver Saturn Sky (first one seen on road).
  21. Recall: 30K Scion tCs for Side Airbag Problem Toyota Motor Corp. said Tuesday it was recalling about 30,000 Scion tC sports coupes over concerns that the side air bags could inadvertently deploy if the door is slammed forcefully. The recall affects about 20 percent of the tCs produced during the 2005 and 2006 model years, Toyota said. The vehicle is only sold in the United States. The automaker said seat-mounted side air bags and side curtain air bags could deploy if the door on that side of the vehicle is closed forcefully while the ignition is on or within 90 seconds of when the ignition is turned off. 22. SEMA Preview: Ford SEMA Mustang It's the SEMA edition Mustang -- and atop the already slick performing GT -- Ford's kiddies strapped a Lycoming supercharger, some new headers and exhaust tips pulled right from Ford's Racing Performance Parts (NAMBLA) catalog -- all of which give this California special body kit-wearing, 18-inch black Bullit wheeled, Shelby rear-spoiler-sporting muscle car an extra few horses over the standard GT (FoMoCo folks on the scene were hesitant to give the exact number, but guesstimated it to be around 435). 25. MB GL450: Motor Trend 2007 SUV of the Year LOS ANGELES, CA (October 24, 2007) -- Motor Trend, the world's automotive authority and part of PRIMEDIA's (NYSE:PRM) Consumer Automotive Group, today announced that the Mercedes-Benz GL450 is Motor Trend's 2007 Sport/Utility of the Year. The GL was selected from a field of 22 vehicles--the largest crop of sport/utilities Motor Trend had ever evaluated. Angus MacKenzie, editor in chief of Motor Trend, noted that this year's field was especially strong. "The GL may be a surprise winner for many people," said MacKenzie. "The first full-size sport/utility from Mercedes is not cheap, but it has astonishing technology. It offers a seven-speed automatic transmission and a V-8 engine with 335 horsepower, and it will be available in a version that runs on the new low-sulfur diesel fuel for greater gas mileage. Comfortable, third-row seating has become one of the most important measures for sport/utilities, and the GL's is the best."
