  1. i would thinhk if they agreed to TPP, it would have to open barriers both ways... http://www.economist.com/blogs/banyan/2011/11/free-trade-agreements sounds like everyone wants japan in the talks, but will be afraid that progress will upset the well connected back in japan and will cause their negotiator to have to leave.
  2. lets fill the entire space between flywheel to differential with a transmission!!! j/k
  3. so why don't we have "nafta" with everyone?
  4. i agree. but if we institute japans trade barrier here, what would the ramifications be? would it apply to canada too?....or mexico?
  5. we've gone over this Drew, reciprocating trade barriers hurt those that do. it's economic warfare, mercantilism.....and even though "it would serve them right", we still get their products cheaply here and thus helps keeps the left over wealth for otherthings instead of paying another "few 1000 $" for the same product assuming the buyers would choose the same as they do now, because competition is good, when it is fair......not when it is equal.
  6. this should have been realised much before now.... look at computer fans...the closer the blades are to the housing the better the flow. it will add to contrction costs, but increase the ROI by a considerable amount. Drew... should maybe watch your capitlization... MW is vastly different than mw.
  7. we did have a ...steel? embargo with them before ww2.... camino, "Japan has never played by the rules"...what rules? ours? cause it doensn't work like that. what should be done is pull our troops out and let them play by their rules.....always push open trade with them but let them do their own thing.... they had a "lost decade" for a reason...it could happen again. if they are blind to thier failings, let them stay blind, it will come back to them.
  8. any of you follow postsecret? "Under SOPA, you could get 5 years for uploading a Michael Jackson song, one year more than the doctor who killed him."
  9. olds....dodge getting car "Above" charger...... viper? or are you talking a big 4 door? Moltar... makes sense, other than the srt branded "dodges"...think the challenger would go away?
  10. olds. i was referring to the '12 model(and before)..., non hybrid.
  11. is the malibu the only one left using the port injected 2.4?
  12. my MC hit 170K officially
  13. don't see image...?
  14. it's not natural, tarrifs and such are a mercantist idea.... would it seem right if you had tariffs between you and anyone else? boarders are just imaginary things that only matter to goverments (unless they are your property's boarders)...but you don't have tarifs on goods in and out of your property, do you? tariffs are just used as a capital raising scheme for governments, but can also be used to wage economic war in trade. we don't have tarifs between states... imagine how costly that would become if we did.
  15. yay! we have a lower tax(direct or inflation) burden and freer trade. WIN!!!! congressional mandates are just that..... as coercive as taxes and just as immoral, therefore not a just law and should not be enforced
  16. cost an electric the more the market realizes the true cost of what they do, the faster it can correct for previous malinvestments.
  17. just putting a 5 or 6 speed behind the 4.3 should help alot....if it's staying. the 3.6 has economies of scale and refinement people would look for... and not really be lacking in torque either compared to the 4.3L. if we're going atlas... update the 5 Cylinder...maybe a light turbo charging.... but i have no experience with that motor. will the new v8 be ready for the first year of these new trucks?
  18. did judge Reinhold put it there?
  19. power corrupts.
  20. as far as what it is, it'll be hot... a modern 240z niche vehicle. we shall see how the final product turns out.
  21. cool, very rare, and in great condition.... be cool in a buick collection.....that's about it.
  22. no inspection needed? might be saving, what.. 500lbs? lol
  23. hyper, i think your wording on that last one is not what you meant. hopefully the v8's with good vvt and DI will see gains.... ~450hp+ will be a good starting point , assuming a displacement of ~6.2L like that current engine has. in leu of that, 2 engines , say, 5.5 and 6.5L COULD be a fine place to start with replacements of the 5.3 and 6.2L....~400hp and 490hp respectively give or take depending on tuning, with as good as, or better MPG.
  24. don't forget tweels are supposed to be out by then so we will see better handling tires that aren't a few inches thick and hopefully cost closer to high ratio tires for those that aren't on 18"+ rims
