    this question die? awwwwwww
  3. ok, so the bolt patterns dif, would it be hard to change the 3.9L's? not sure how they do that, they drill the bolt pattern, or is it a casting thing?maybe the 6speed will make a difference in MPG, cause w/ the 4 speed i see a dog of an engine in the 3.9L when it comes to the EP cars, but yes the manual in the g6 isn't bad. the 3.5L seems to do well for the most part from what people say, for power AND mileage. curious why you think "The 3.9 VVT will likely replace the 3.5's across the board within 3 years."? seems to me the 3.9L is losing it's place in applications, which makes me a little sad.
  4. ...completely?.... yes i kinda understand what you mean... but wouldn't it be more from the engine mounts, intake of course, and heads ( as in it didn't need the coil packs slapped on top of one bank ) ? I'm just curious how much really was different in the block if it was just superficial or there was , as in, needed different oil pump/oil pan ... more than that? not a "good idea" but if they had an rs V6 or V8, could put a H.O. 3.5L (~+230hp) as the base engine, could use the 3.9L (280hp) OR 3.6L DI as the "performance V6"
  5. does the impala use the same trans as the one when it used the 3.8?... cause the 3.8 was in the camaro, which used the Rwd trans equivilent to the Fwd one, right? anyway, wouldn't it come down to the bell housing possibilities and engine mount locations. it'll be possible, but we're just making guesses for the v6 and maybe a mid V8.
  6. "The Buick sedan has been designed to accept GM's 5.7-liter V8, which likely will be mated to a five- or six-speed automatic transmission." is this dating it by itself? or does holden still use a 5.7L?
  7. slope the rear less/ bigger trunk... badging... little here and there... BUICK anyone?
  8. Best Sound System Industry At-Large Vote: Dodge Magnum (Boston Acoustics) News Media Vote: Audi S8 (Bang & Olufsen) media HAS to have this right. not that i have experience, but the audi has them make the system special, and they have the resources to do the best, the magnum, prolly has stock location limitations that BA has to work w/. they should show the runner up. for all them to show what else they considered.
  9. i've seen that before.... still kinda cool though!

  13. wonder if those power and mpg will change when GM is supposed to give it HCCI... this comparo wasn't to surprising, only surprised that dodge uses a 6cyl amoung the few others. YAY chevy!
  14. what rename oldsmobile to.... hmphttt , newsmobile hmphttt, hmphttt, hahahahahahahah that would've been horible!!!!
  15. after reading some responses, the articles Jay Leno writes for popular mechanics came to mind, the most recent one. he talks about how people today are so distracted in their cars, he felt safer in his old jag (i believe) than than some ladies in an SUV w/ the nav, cell phones, radio, and talking to eachother to. sorta reinforcing the growing trend of "the car- the appliance" mindset. Being it's more fun to be entertained in the car, than to just drive, pay attention while checking out the scenery, and enjoy the drive. NOS-- what about transformers too!? the best "cartoons" on nowadays are fairly odd parents and adultswim, which kids shouldn't be watching much of anyway. edit, forgot about Foster's too.
  16. pontiac has to become the "american performance", Saturn was intended to be a eurofighter, right? so pontiac has history to draw from, and saturn has it's future to keep in mind. yes, they seem to be competing in some ways, but like most of people here, i think, the public wouldn't really cross-shop the two.
  17. ... you were running aol?!!!!anyway... you use IE, firefox, or something else? run an anti virus?.... don't have one, one's free at http://www.free-av.com/ anti-spyware?... could try to redownload the javaclient from java.com

  22. No prob :AH-HA_wink: that "Drape" covers it up quite well as far as the hood/front goes. doubt there'd be much difference in the windshield rake, maybe a slight mirror difference. WHEN GM, WHEN will you show us?!!!!?!!!!
  23. how about interior looks like enclave from the 2nd row up....and exterior more sporty than lucerne edit, how about a "buick CTS/STS"? since it allready has a "DTS"
  24. the original does look outlandish doesn't it, but with that front, I'm not hating it anymore. it kinda shouts to me saying, "i'm not much like the rest of my segment, other than the sedan part, come, come give me a test drive."...
  25. glad you weren't hurt, hope your friend gets recovers well. still kinda sad that that happened, wonder if the other car drfited into your lane from wind or if it was just heading that way for other reasons? must've been hard for the girl's family too though.
