No it's pretty bad. The 9-2 was more SAAB than this, which is a complete, 100% badge-job. Grille and logos are the only differences--even the interior is identical.

Well, GM will be investing a lot into Flint. That'll help boost jobs. GM sales have been up, leading to more production shifts, which leads to more jobs. Reading between the lines...I think there will be more jobs coming, but not in the form of GM suddenly turning all of its factories back on and revving them up to full production capacity.

There are numerous subjectives involved in judging a given car's suitability to a person; it's seldom back & white. No one 'needs' a car that can exceed even 100 MPH, yet scores buy cars capable of half that again. Preference. I was clearly talking about physical size.

Oh please. Then why were large SUVs largely bought by soccer moms?? Yes, all automakers pandered to these very petite women who wanted small cars, which is why they all came out with Cayennes, Range Rovers, Expeditions, Suburbans, and Explorers that kept getting bigger and bigger. Interior packaging has largely improved over the years without question, the main difference being the switch from bench seats to buckets + consoles up front, and this is largely due to 1) safety issues and 2) consumer preferences. Fact is nobody hardly ever used the 6th seat, and even then it was usually reserved for children...who quite frankly have NO BUSINESS being in that kind of position in a car, ESPECIALLY since air bags became ubiquitous. Even prior to that, those seats were lap-belts only, and lots of hard dash equipment was right in the path of tiny foreheads in the event of even a minor collision. Frankly, the interior room of a Chevrolet Cruze compares extremely favorably to most midsized cars today, and certainly trumps anything in its equivalent class from yesteryear. If a Lucerne or DTS is "too small" for you, then in all honesty the problem is your size, not the size of cars today.

Cool, yea...I think the next recipe I'm going to attempt to create will be some version of khao soi...I gotta do something with all of my leftover coconut cream...

Avalanche and Escalade EXT will be dead soon. Too bad, as I think the midgate does a great job in catering to the weekend warrior crowd. Maybe this feature will remain somewhere else?

If all Subarus aren't out, certainly their owners are.

Okay, I have a new one!! This recipe is for a Coconut Crème Patisserie, so it can be used on its own as a Coconut Pudding, used in a Coconut Cream Pie, or some other recipe of yours where a coconut pastry cream would be yummy. Coconut Crème Patisserie In a small saucepan, scald 1¾ cup Half-and-Half along with Half of 1 Vanilla Bean. In a medium mixing bowl, combine: ½ cup Sugar 2 tbsp Flour 2 Egg yolks ¼ tsp Salt Slowly add the scalded half-and-half to the egg yolk mixture, stirring constantly with a whisk to avoid scrambling the eggs. Add ½ cup Coconut Cream and stir to combine. Strain the mixture by pouring through a mesh strainer and into the small saucepan, discarding the vanilla bean. Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbling. Remove from heat and transfer to a medium mixing bowl. Cover with plastic wrap directly on top of the custard to prevent a skin from forming and chill. Note: This recipe does NOT call for Coco Lopez or any of that sugary, sweetened crap. The "Coconut Cream" required is the kind you'll find in an Asian market. This is what I used, and it came in a little 200mL box for 99¢. I also bought a much larger "1000mL" package for $2.99...so this stuff should be cheap.

08 SRX. They're that cheap now?? DAMN and really nice, too.

Agreed. I really wish my Aurora were shorter...seems to have a lot of wasted space up front, to be honest...but then the gorgeous design would be affected. I can say with certainty: I would never want my daily driver to be any bigger than my Aurora. Just too cumbersome. Every now and then, I like driving our big boaty 1980 Sedan de Ville...but that's less "driving" and more "cruising"...and the key is occasionally. As a daily driver, no bueno, even though the honks and attention is great

No $h!.

Clearly I still think it's absolutely hilarious that you got so worked up and behaved dangerously toward the motorcyclist when the only actual damage you received to your car came from a retaliatory kick that you provoked by cutting him off, cursing and screaming at him.
-
Well, considering bird crap and fresh asphalt cause paint damage when not promptly removed and are a bitch to clean off, I'd say it's a pretty valid comparison. Oh wait, except that the burnt rubber bits cleaned up perfectly and so the only damage to blu's car is from the scratch as the result of the kick he provoked.
-
Wait, are you saying that the motorcyclist spraying burnout on his hood would be considered a traffic accident? Or him kicking the door? I'd be happy to hold my temper if I can call 911 with his license plate number and actually have the police take it seriously. I doubt that would happen. Where I used to live ricers would do burnouts on my street every so often. I'd call the cops and they would come. The best time was when some retarded in a Mazda 626 blew a tire and while he was trying to change it the cop showed up. I laughed pretty hard. HAHAHAHA SO FUNNY! OMG LOLZ Dude, I'm pretty sure he has no idea why you find his post so offensive. Which makes this whole thing hilarious to me.

I'm still wondering what your Milquetoast reaction is when someone sprays rubber gunk, sand and rocks on your brand new car... then drives off. You call 911? Wait 2 hours for the cops to show up (if they do) and write a report. Now what? Feel better the next weekend while you buff off another mill of paint off your car? 1) That car isn't "brand new"--he's had it for a few months now. 2) Nothing was ever mentioned about sand and/or rocks. 3) The only damage mentioned was the scratch caused by the rage- and invective-provoked kick (which was entirely preventable) 4) If I were so obsessed about keeping my car looking showroom new, I'm sure I'd have waxed it recently so that the "burnt rubber" bits and tire smoke engulfing my ride would have protected the paint from any damage. Now, if you think my reaction is far too measured and milquetoast for a normal human being, then please educate me on what you do in retaliation to those goddamn birds who $h! on my car, or those motherf@#king bugs who splat themselves all over the front of my car. Should I carry an uzi to take out the birds? Also, what do I do for a road being repaved? If I'm driving and the DOT is repaving...and I can HEAR those little asphalt pellets in my wheel wells...do I swerve towards the DOT workers in the shoulders to rage at them for daring to thoughtlessly put loose asphalt on the roadway? Do I roll my window down and curse them out?

It's really easy to be judgmental against someone being so reckless and immature. I mean seriously, cutting someone off and cursing at someone DOES NOTHING EXCEPT ESCALATE THE SITUATION and as you found out, he ended up KICKING YOUR CAR AND SCRATCHING IT IN RESPONSE. So now you're in a pissy mood, have little rubber bits on the front of your car, a SCRATCH on your door, AND you were driving recklessly and endangering someone in a MUCH SMALLER VEHICLE WITH A LOT LESS PROTECTION WHO YOU ADMIT MOST LIKELY HAD NO IDEA THAT HIS PEACOCKING WAS INCONVENIENCING OR IRRITATING YOU IN ANY WAY. Oh, and by the way, when I was 8 years old if you had internet you were on CompuServe, and C&G wasn't even a figment of Walt's imagination. So shut it. As for what I would have done--I would have kept my distance from him and/or taken an alternate route because I don't like to be anywhere near idiots on the road. I certainly wouldn't have cut him off and started a verbal confrontation because I don't care to test whether or not someone is mentally imbalanced and would retaliate, nor do I care to see if someone may have a concealed weapon. I certainly don't want someone with poor judgment to decide to follow me and intentionally harass me.

Rumorpile - 2-Door Cruze Coming Soon To Orion Assembly?
Croc replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
The Canadian media was positive about the 2003 Malibu. In fact, I could take a $h! in the middle of a preschool and the Canadian media would be generally positive about it. -
Are you f@#king kidding me? You have NO maturity, NO self-control and NO regard for anyone other than yourself. Who the hell do you think you are cutting off someone on a bike?? And then coming on here to post about it and try to garner sympathy?? Disgraceful!!
-
Get the Cruze Eco--it sounds like it fits your needs well. My only suggestion is to see what you can do to postpone the new purchase until the 2012s come out so you don't have to spend as much on a new 2011.
-
Agreed. Agreed. I mean, I AM an Oldsmobile fan...but the last Eighty-Eight/LSS was just bland, bland, bland...certainly not very attractive/stylish, not a luxurious interior...I just have a very hard time seeing a young, freshly graduated 20-something being super-stoked to be driving a car that is so old and..."mature." Especially with the gas mileage. Right now, if I got a new car, the three at the top of my list would be the Verano, Regal or Cruze Eco...and the decision would be based entirely on content/$$$ and mpg.
-
To be fair, he has indicated that he wants a new car (or new for him), and so therefore... Frankly, that's his business and not mine. I will say, though, I got a kick out of the first line of your second paragraph; yes, just like nothing Nieman Marcus sells today will give you the comfort and style of what Vanilla Ice wore in the late 1980s.
-
Well, here's what I'd suggest: if you really feel you NEED a car, then you want to go for low price, low cost of ownership, and excellent gas mileage. If I were you, I'd be looking at the latest crop of compacts that get 40+mpg. Several of these only cost around $15k-16k brand new, so wait until August/September when the 2012s come out, and then look at 2011 inventory. You'll get a new car with a year's worth of depreciation knocked off the sticker, full warranty, etc. In other words, a great deal. If that doesn't appeal to you, then I'd look at late-model used cars. As in no more than 2 years old (so there's still some kind of warranty).
