  1. Those who go to a technical college are fine. Those are job skills. The people with the most time at the company and the most job skills, that's good. The problem is unskilled people making far more than they should. If you are unskilled, why should you have that much of a paycheck? And before someone starts complaining about the expense of college, there are plenty or scholarships and student loans, especially for the underpriviliged.
  2. Look, call me insensitive, but this shouldn't be a shock to anyone. This has been coming for years. If people wanted to be competitive, they needed job skills. $65/hr is ridiculous for someone with only a high school education. People make choices in life, and they are responsible for those choices. On $65/hr and a 40hr workweek, is it really that hard to take a class or two at a community college to gain some skills that would make you more competitive? I think not. There seems to be a double standard here. Razoredge rallies against perceived corporate greed, while many (including me) are called insensitive for rallying against union greed. What's wrong with this picture?
  3. Now you want Ford and GM into bankruptcy? What is wrong with you?
  4. I agree it is necessary, but I also disagree because I do think it is good. Anything to bring the unions back in line and back into the real world. It isn't 1910 anymore.

    Buick 2006 - 2010

I have no problem with the Buicks being upscale versions of Chevrolets, as long as the differentiation is in place. I think Buick should have a 5-vehicle model. One minivan/crossover, and four cars: one midsize, one large FWD, one large RWD and a coupe/halo derivative based on the RWD platform.
  6. Daimler-Chrysler is German, but the et al referred to suppliers and designers that are still American
  7. This is awesome! OK...so who wants to speculate on exactly what the ramifications will be? Exactly how is this going to affect GM, Ford, et al?
  8. Peter Pan peanut butter should, it's full of hydrogenated oils. Only go for Smuckers peanut butter, and other similar hydrogenated oil-free types.
  9. As much as the 70s and 80s Japanese cars rusted, the Americans had a few rustbuckets too. Cancer-mobile Vega, the X-bodies, and the Eldorado/Toronado/Riviera of that period. That's just GM. Ford and Chrysler in particular had some rusties as well. Anything without galvanized steel tends to rust, and galvanized steel did not become standard fare until the mid 1990s.
  10. I've been rained on GMs, and I still want my cars to drive well!
  11. Wow I never dream like that...

    Last Place Again

Gotta agree with them, though. STS is NOT a breakthrough product.
  13. This is beautiful and glorious. History in the making...
  14. While what you say is true regarding the uppers of the unions calling the shots, the sheeple still strike when they're told to. If I didn't support it, I'd break it. People need to pull their heads out of their asses and start thinking for themselves.

    Buick's Future

Yea...not gonna happen, Chrominium. That would almost guarantee Buick to get the axe.
  16. Actually Josh, I think it's great news for the industry. Not everything is a fight, not everything is an adversarial position. The most successful companies are the ones where employees and employers work together with pride toward a common product...the unions have not done that...ever. They have always looked out for their own best interests. That was good and all back in the day, but unfair labor practices are virtually outlawed in this day and age and the unions just add another layer of bureaucracy to the whole process. Josh, the emotional argument that these are lives and livlihoods at stake really doesn't do it with me. Face it, every industry has experienced this recently. Why should unionized autoworkers be above this? Do you want to blame Wagoner and Smith for this? I don't think so. The unions have brought it on themselves, and the writing has been on the wall. I don't want to make a sweeping generalization that autoworkers are ignorant, because they are not. Anyone, in any business, is ignorant if they are only a very specialized worker. One must present a portfolio of job skills to be competitive as an employee, and anyone who tried to buck this is, in my opinion, ignorant--autoworker or not. I don't want to come across like a jackass on this because I know it hits pretty close to home for you, but at the same time the writing was on the wall...this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
  17. Only get that spare key for your bumper if you want your car stolen. Better to have an extra set of keys at home.
  18. XLR has a lot more luxury features than the Corvette; it also doesn't scream "midlife crisis!"
  19. so far seems to be working...thanks Z!
  20. Oh ok...yea I'll post later tonight and let you know if it's fixed.
  21. The top has to be like that for the folding motion so it has some give to it. With moving parts, you're gonna get that. Even the Sebring has it, just not to as noticeable a degree:
  22. I know a very rich family who got a Rendezvous.
  23. I regularly clear my cache...that's not it. Griffon seems to have it worse; mine stays logged in until I go to another site, but it won't "remember" me.
  24. HAHA!! GARY COLEMAN! Made my day...
  25. Nope, I stay logged into every other forum I frequent...this is the only one with issues.
