  1. Throw in the Accord, Camry, Corolla, Avalon, Altima, Sentra...they are all pretty evolutionary. In fact, I can't think of too many American cars that were evolutionary throughout the generations--the Americans have pretty strong brand styling vocabularies, but the individual models don't really show too much of an evolutionary succession...and in GM's case that's been a very good thing lately.
  2. You're joking, right? I'm pretty sure that Hondas and Toyotas have pretty linear design evolutions. Your VW just looks warmed over...and cheaper.
  3. Oh, so THIS is the back-to-the-drawing-board design after the Buick VUE-rebadge was universally derided last year. OK, cool.
  4. Ugh jealous
  5. The new Malibu is said to be wider than the current model.
  6. The Hyundai Sonata cured my cancer, so no, I'm not sick of it yet.
  7. Saw a new white Ford Explorer. Two things surprised me: for how large the taillight housing is, the actual brake lights are fairly small and not terribly noticeable IMO...also, Ford isn't using LED ambers.
  8. After looking at the slideshow again...yea I don't like it. Like you guys are saying--way too much going on. Beltline is too high, too many competing lines, the rear 3/4 is a mess, and that interior is useless. But head-on it makes one hell of a good first impression.
  9. No, I gave up on waffles a long time ago ... I'd quit hanging out at Waffle House if they would quit putting smack in the syrup for just one time. I love the Waffle House--too bad they aren't in California
  10. Happy birthday!
  11. We'd probably laugh, hand out a couple plus one's, and go about our merry ways. Yea I don't think my post constitutes a "rage" against the header, but nice try. Frankly, I think it's pretty obnoxious and immature to name-call and throw shade simply because someone posted why their BS detector went off on an April Fool joke. I mean seriously? Don't start $h! unless you're prepared to get it back because I wasn't originally planning on saying anything about the header containing about as much original thought as going to the fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu sub-reddit and stealing some generic rage graphics.
  12. ...and why's that, because I'm not gullible? C'mon. If I were really being a buzzkill, I'd have posted something about how puerile and immature the whole "rage graphics" header is on a site trying to position itself as professional. There's a reason that Oldsmoboi co-signed the whole "C&G isn't 4chan" (or reddit for that matter) over in the Buick forum. Good thing I didn't do anything like that because I can't imagine what the reaction would have been.
  13. This is more "What am I watching" than what I am listening too, but it's all good <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9-0FVqRoK-E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  14. That article reeked of BS from the first sentence onward for me. 1) Far too long of an article to genuinely be about a reveal in less than a month. 2) Too may details, and details that don't make any sense (i.e. folding top with photovoltaic cells? So do those get all crinkly? Manual-only top, but photovoltaic cells to power interior cooling fans?) and 3) No picture of the top up. It's easy to photoshop away a roof. Lame.
  15. It's a global Chevrolet thing. GM Daewoo and NA Chevy are converging into one brand. This car may be called a Malibu, but it's really a successor to the Epica. I don't know if I can really cosign this. Obviously the two product lines are converging to eliminate unnecessary overlap, but given the platform heritage, the design heritage, I think this is more Chevrolet than Daewoo. IMO, the design language is GM Korea ("Chevrolet") but with aggressive "Chevy" fascias front and rear. I doubt the NA version will get Chevrolet decklid badging. Global Cruze: NA Cruze: But I'm talking about the Malibu, not the Cruze. From what we've seen, the upcoming Malibu has a lot of distinctively "American" design elements. Cruze absolutely looks GMDAT, but I can't go there with the Malibu...at least yet with the current photos available.
  16. I just wikipedia'd it and it sounds like a fun drug!! Here's hoping for a smooth recovery!!
  17. HEAT WAVE IN LA!!!!!!
  18. Agreed on the decklid badging. It's almost as if GM knows the cars it's coming up with now are worthy of their brand names or something. It's a global Chevrolet thing. GM Daewoo and NA Chevy are converging into one brand. This car may be called a Malibu, but it's really a successor to the Epica. I don't know if I can really cosign this. 19. Similar market position, but Lucerne is sized/appointed/drives far more like the LeSabre successor it is. It holds little interest to me.
  20. No kidding. Buick now has Regal, though, and that appeals to me very similarly. I think it had more to do with exchange rates than Cateras. I think the Catera was a similar rush-job. Yup, it was essentially production-ready.
  21. I thought this was fairly common knowledge. That's why the Regal we actually got was a Century rebadge rush-job. Remember the 1995 Buick XP2000 concept car?
  22. Remember, the 1997 Buick Regal was originally planned to be an imported Commodore.
  23. I can't wait. Also, the 2013 model year thing isn't anything new--we already knew it was being released around January 2012, which means an early 2013MY, kind of like the 2001 Aurora.
  24. That's actually pretty cool!
  25. Care to elaborate?
