  1. ...and the article clearly said the idea was put out there early on, but is not being pursued. The idea of a mileage-based tax is NOTHING NEW and has been proposed again and again over the last few decades. But hey, why let reason and logic get in the way of a good old-fashioned freakout??
  2. You already have to pay the feds to drive anywhere...including private roads since there's a gas tax and part of it is federal.
  3. White Diamond is the best color ever. When clean. Unfortunately, it shows EVERYTHING.
  4. White Diamond, aka the most expensive factory paint job known to man.
  5. Well of course...but just be circumspect about it. He's obviously still pretty internally conflicted...so enjoy the fling or whatever, but don't act all blindsided when a stable relationship doesn't materialize...because in all likelihood it won't until he figures himself out and is OK with it.
  6. Damn I wish I had the money...
  7. Except he said he's going back to church to try and learn to "behave." using the church to try and hide from something that isn't wrong in the first place ends up bad for both the church and the person doing the hiding. It'd be like me going to church to try to give of my C&G habit. And this.
  8. I saw that, too...and promptly figured out who most likely did it. Whatever, some people revel in drama because they lack sufficient hobbies
  9. This. Anyway, don't pine after someone who is that insecure and self-loathing. Nothing good will ever come of it. Until they figure themselves out and are OK with it (if they ever are), their inner turmoil will always be a wedge. It isn't worth it.
  10. I'll take the ventiports. I like 'em.
  11. Legendary Lordstown at it again, this has got to be a cultural thing, as I think it goes back to the Vega IIRC Wait, they were the Vega plant?? Oh god, why wasn't that one shuttered years ago?? At the very least, that plant has a history of abysmal quality control. These are the kinds of mistakes that shouldn't be allowed to leave the plant.
  12. Honestly, if I were GM I'd be looking into any way to exact punishment on the workforce at any plant that engages in such incompetence. There have to be both carrots and sticks.
  13. Waterfall grille yes, as long as it's done in a way that fits the sleek upper grille opening of the GTC: no Verano/Enclave/Regal big grille, IMHO. And while we're at it why not make it black chrome to give the car a bit of added distinction? I love black chrome, so I'm with you on this one 100%
  14. Wow, someone's trying to generate traffic today...
  15. Uhhhhh...I think the "more severe than much higher ones in California" has more to do with building codes that don't account for seismic activity because it's far less frequent. Yes, there are different types of faults, and yes, there are some that are "worse" than others, but we have them all in California, so anything "worse" would be more of a function of population size and unprepared localities.
  16. Bingo. Except...these recalls are assembly-line issues. All of the design issues were taken care of overseas. This is just Lordstown incompetence.
  17. The W-body is like a cockroach...almost 30 years old and still not dead.
  18. I'm seeing a very gradual increase in numbers out in Los Angeles. I'm starting to get a little concerned that they aren't as common as I would have expected given my personal impressions of the Cruze.
  19. Yeah, agreed. And it would be slightly out-of-the-box with regards to Buick's image. A bit like the Regal was with the German engineering thing, offering only 4 cylinder engines. That was not exactly Buick's traditional type of offering. Why not drop the "let's be original for originality's sake" and just slap a Buick badge without any other changes. Call it the Verano GTC and offer the damn thing in NA I'd still add the waterfall grille, but otherwise I'm with you. It's a strong design, and it really looks premium as-is. The rear is already Buick-esque if you squint a little, and most buyers don't even care. It clearly will have some resemblance to the Regal owing to their Opel heritage, so intra-brand cohesion will be intact.
  20. I love the Allante, and while I'll gladly look at pictures, I cannot entertain a purchase...not for at least a few years and frankly I'm holding out for a 1993.

  22. Thought-provoking.
  23. Weird
  24. Well, if Cadillac wants to compete with the 3er, they need to offer a soft top convertible option. So basically it seems Cadillac is going down the columns, checking the checkboxes.
