SEC Filing Reveals Pentastar V6 & Eight-Speed For 2013 Ram

Ram has some big changes in store for the 2013 Ram 1500 in April, but a new SEC filing reveals some of the juicy details.

The Ram will be getting Chrysler's 3.6L Pentastar V6 producing 280 HP. This will replace the current 3.7L V6 producing 210 HP. Also, the Ram will get a new eight-speed transmission.

The new eight-speed transmission "reduces fuel consumption by up to 12 percent over our current five-speed transmissions" such as the one in the current Ram, the filing says.

The filing also reveals the eight-speed transmission will make its way to the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 2013 model year.

Nice to see they are doing it for the Durango next year. My daughter while looking to replace her durango will not be ready till next summer or fall to do this, so she should be able to get one with the 8 speed tranny.

    SWEETNESS :P
