(WCCO) Minneapolis On March 30, Minnesota Timberwolves center Eddie Griffin was drunk and masturbating when he crashed his luxury SUV into a parked Suburban outside a store in Minneapolis, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday by the man whose Suburban was hit in the crash.

The WCCO-TV I-TEAM obtained copies of 911 calls and store surveillance video of the incident, along with an accident report the police submitted to the state.

Several of the 911 callers that night said Griffin was drunk. One witness said Griffin told him he was watching pornography in a DVD player mounted on the dashboard of his Cadillac Escalade SUV when he struck a Chevy Suburban parked on University Avenue Southeast.

The location where Griffin crashed is located a couple miles from the Target Center where Griffin had played with his team several hours earlier.

Abed Hassuneh, who is the brother of the victim, said Griffin told him, "That he was masturbating himself going down that street. That's how the accident happened because he was not paying attention. He's paying attention to that video and all of a sudden he's shoveled somebody's car on the top of the sidewalk."

Uh, because they're people, just wike yoooo and meee?

This dude will not live this down in forever. He may as well quit basketball and go into porn.

I don't follow basketball much. What kind of a ball handler is he?

ahem, the video is not supposed to be able to be viewed when the car is not in park!

The way it's described, it sounds like an aftermarket kit. Eddie could have easily said to the installation crew, "Leave off that option, I want to be watching that $#!+ while I'm driving."

no wonder griffin needs eye surgery (his claim for poor play during the season), he must be squinting all the time!

Uhm... According to urban legend, it's not "squinting" that will make someone go blind... :duh:

Think about it

This sounds like something BV would do. I'm pretty serious.

This is going to follow him to the courts. I remember Theoren Fleury getting put into a control group because of his drinking problem. He got into it with a Wings player the next season and after the refs broke it up, the Wings player (can't remember who..) yelled something (probably "Fleury" or something) and put his hand up to his mouth like he was drinking. Fleury got so pissed.. pretty hilarious.

Wow... file that in the Bizzare News Files with Bobbit & Michael Jackson.

This is sad. It was on the news here. He died in my neighborhood. It was right at the train tracks. It is the same direction as my post office. I used to walk there before I got my cars. I was trying to figure out what he was doing in my neighborhood any way. Maybe it is because I live downtown. I do not know... They interviewed his attorney. He had a drinking problem. It goes back to the when he was 10 years old. He played at Seton Hall, and had potential. He was let go by the Rockets for violating the NBA substance abuse policy. He went to Minnesota, and could not let go of his demons. They released him in March. He has been a big downward spiral. The drinking and the money was just too much for someone so young. That fire was horrific too. You could not recognize him or his vehicle. They had to identify him by dental records. I know the vehicle was a Nissan Armada or a Infiniti Q56.
