Formula One Management has accepted GM's bid to be part of the league so Cadillac becomes the 11th team to be on the grid for 2026.  Cadillac will partner up with TWG Global which owns Andretti Racing and Wayne Taylor Racing.  It looks like Mario will be in charge as director of the team's board rather than his son Michael.  Formula One had a problem with Michael.

Cadillac for now will be using another manufacturer's engine. No word yet on who but rumors abound that it will not be Alpine/Renault as it was the first time around but Ferrari.   I guess Ferrari was smitten when Chevrolet said that a Ferrai 458 and especially its engine was an inspiration for the Corvette C8 Z06 and its engine.  That would be my opinion of course.  GM promised that it would be an engine producer/supplier by the end of the decade for Cadillac's racing team.  The team will race under the Cadillac brand.

I am so freakin' excited for this! Ford and GM will be in F1 in 2026.

As so am I.

Despite me ranting on the other thread, I find our common love for this as a great thing.  Looks like Ill be a Formula One fan once again.  I used to watch it in the 1990s when local boy Jacques Villeneuve was racing.  Now I have a different reason to watch. My love for GM and Ford.  Glad we share that same sentiment!

That and your St Louis Blues team keeps on taking Bruins talent.  Tory Krug and now former head coach Jim Montgomery becoming your head coach.  David Backes on the flip side...

Jim Montgomery went to the same highschool as I did.  We did roam the same halls together AT the same TIME but sadly, I do not know him.  I was on the highschool hockey team. He was not. I guess he was too good for a humble highschool hockey team...

Good news... I haven't paid attention to F1 much in the last few years, but used to be a huge fan...from reading about it in Road & Track as a kid in the late 70s to watching on tv whenever I could find it from the 80s through the early 00s, then again in 10s.

I just hope that GM will stick with it long term rather than short term till they get a few wins and use it to advertise and then kill it off. Their past track record leaves much to be desired when it comes to commercial racing.
