The government should have seen it coming after people were stealing televisions and jewelry the minute the rain stopped coming down and wind stopped blowing.

Weird that many people who are left homeless, without clean water and lacking in food and fuel get the idea of having beer and porno evenings...

Then again, I guess they had to put those stolen new HDTV's through their paces.

Any kind of big "project" (government spending, corporate spending, religious charity campaign, etc.) ALWAYS experiences the misallocation of funds. Let's face it -- there are corrupt and/or stupid people who don't have good priorities out there.

And to think some people here were defending the looters for stealing non-essentials. I wonder what they think of this debacle?

Like I said before, if you were coming out of said semi-flooded store with a loaf of bread, something to drink (other than alcohol), you know, things to SURVIVE with, fine, but if you were coming out with a TV, eight pairs of shoes, etc, you deserved a round to the head and another to the heart...call me cruel, I call it justice, you don't need a TV when you've got no power dip$h!.

When my charity check shows up in the mailbox from someone more fortunate than me, I'll scrap together a few bucks for someone else. Until then, I am my own #1 charity. It's all relative, baby.
