If you havent seen this article http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...?showtopic=9349

Im looking for a truck 2000 and up 4wd 1/2 and up no duallies or diesiel. at least 6 1/2 ft bed. ext cab not required. I plan to spend around 15k used up to 30 new.

Right now im using a 89 camaro as a work car (I rented it for a case of beer and bring it back with a full tank of gas from my uncle) it goes back tomarrow though.

I dont know if i can wait till fall when they come out. since i dont think i can strap metal and Oxy/Asen torches in my caprice.

any sugestions?

EDIT: 90's trucks i guess can work since they still want a pant leg for those 2000 trucks.

I'd say go for the new truck...

For now, I'd just pick up a compact wagon....like a Cavalier, Escort, or Focus.

They can be had for cheap.

You'd be suprised what I can fit in the back of mine... :)

I saw a buick rodmaster wagon for sale lol should i get it? It is white with wood grain panels. I t has a 350 and its for sale at $4500

roadmaster'd be cool, see if you can get it for less than 4.5K and then in the fall you could try to sell it again depending if you want to buy a new or used truck.

I would not purchase a Roadmaster Estate if you know it will be a substitute for a pickup truck for a while. The new trucks should be amazing, so I can understand waiting... but I'd buy a cheap S-10 until then to use for work.

the only problem about an s-10 its not wide enough for what i need or i would all ready have one. the wagon can fit it in some how.

I saw a old ford f 150 with a straight 6 for $500 and a 5 speed but it says needs work im wondering how much.

and i cant seem to find the cheap old chevy truck with a 350 in it.

A Roadmaster Estate deserves a better fate than pickup truck duty, I hope you agree. I would ask about the F-150... see how much work it needs. Look it over, drive it, ask questions.

Your right it deserves to be some 16 years old first car instead so it can be on the road for another 2 months :banghead: :AH-HA_wink:

Yeah it shouldn't be tortured to riding miles on end with the frame riding on the shocks bumpstop. done that a couple of times with my 1500.

Im going to call the number on that truck right now since i put it in my phone.

Saint Clair Shores...Michigan, right?

I found this beater and two others on Auto Trader.

The other two (just in case you don't like a camper top and white, non-matching hood :D).

(The truck in the above link isn't too shabby at all. 85,000 miles isn't much for an '88 model and it's under $2000 dollars.)

(Uh...that above mentioned truck may be a bit too much, but...)

Im going to call abou that middle one. I wonder if a V6 is strong enough tho. it should be, right?

That ford truck needs a new head gasket and exhaust mainfold. plus he was vague on some electrical problem so.... hmmm.

I don't see why the V6 wouldn't be suitable. You're getting a new GMT-900 this fall, right, so I think this should do good on doing what you need done until then. :)
