The Chevrolet Camaro Concept will star in the forthcoming “Transformers” movie, which is due for release on July 4th, 2007 (07-04-07). The film — which was first announced last year — is a collaboration between Paramount, DreamWorks, and Hasbro. Apparently, “Bumblebee” is going to start out as a 1970s Camaro, and then be rebuilt as a 2008/2009 Camaro. Meanwhile, “Starscream” is going to be an F-22 Raptor, and “Optimus Prime” is going to be a fire truck. Judging by the license plate on the new Camaro, tuner Saleen also has involvement with the project. A Saleen Mustang police car will also appear in the film.

Awesome... 8)

Saleen Camaro?

That's a first...

“Optimus Prime” is going to be a fire truck.

Hope that's a mistake. Any other Transformer can change models, but Optimus as anything but a red cab-over rig is just wrong.

I couldn't agree with you more.

However, I think it would be difficult to change Soundwave or Megatron. Those three need to remain true to the gen-1/series-1 standard.

Besides, didn't the Autobots already have a fire truck in the 1st gen/Series... called Inferno? I know that they added another fire engine later on who was the leader of the Protectobots: Hotspot. (However, Hotspot & Inferno transformed completely different from each other.)

SWEET!

As for Optimus....c'mon, guys!! He has to be the classic version or not at all!!! Dammit....why is that so hard to get?!!?

Either way, the Camaro looks bad-ass as always! :ohyeah:

So the first picture pulled up on a Google image search of Transformers movie 2007 is a covered red semi. Hopefully the writer just can't tell one type of big red truck from another.

And yes, there was a first generation firetruck called Inferno (I have him, along with Optimus Prime, and Ultra Magnus, and Grimlock, and the Aerialbots...) I can't help but say that the Camaro looks awesome, but I still think that Bumblebee should be a bug... I could see Megatron as a tank because he was one in the 2nd generation comic and toys (best friend who lived across the street from me had him, we had transformers wars all the time).
