Those sedan/hatchback numbers are just murderous.... no wonder they are cutting back on production.

Pruis down nearly 20%?  I guess it doesn't help that its ugly instead of just dull.

I am surprised by the 33% down for Rav4 hybrid when the rest of the CUV hybrids are doing well and the Rav4 ICE is up almost 12%.

RAV4 changed models this year.  The new hybrid may not be as much in circulation yet.

I think you're right.  It seems to have turned blue.  Do not resuscitate.

Prius sales are awful because it is ugly, and not a good car.

The Tesla Model 3 outsold the Corolla last month.  That has to be concerning, they aren't even up to full capacity yet, the Model 3 could be the number 1 selling sedan in the USA in 2019, while all these other guys can't figure out how to sell a sedan.

Correct on the Model 3/Sedan, but the Prius is actually a very good car. Perhaps if you would remove your cranium from Hans rectal orifice you might make better more informed posts.

Prius is about $6k more than a Corolla, is smaller than a Corolla, and has less power.  Prius does get about 20 mpg more, but according to fueleconomy.gov the Prius saves $400 per year in gas over a Corolla.  So in 15 years it breaks even, not a good deal.

But impressive technology and a well built car.

You also are forgetting the human element besides what @A Horse With No Name has stated that is very accurate. Humans make irrational decisions and in some regards some things seem stupid to one but to them makes sense and makes them feel good.

Most Prius owners want to minimize their carbon footprint. The Prius, VOLT, heck any hybrid or EV allows their owner to feel good about the carbon footprint they leave regardless of if they understand how the carbon footprint shifts.

That Prius AWD, with the TRD lift kit, BFG K02 tires, class III hitch and front winch would be pretty sweet.

Which means they are probably abandoning ship and buying Teslas.  Tesla could outsell Lexus in 2019, they are surging fast, Toyota better wake up or their "green car" buyers are going to disappear on them.
