Supposedly, First Energy rate here in the Cleveland burbs is about 5.25c/KWh.   Summer, when the electric bill is higher from running the A/C a lot hasn't been that bad so far.... my highest was for July, $235...in comparison, in Phoenix running the A/C 24/7 in July for a house 1/2 the size was usually $450-600/month from June-Sept.

So you're paying 5c/kWh? That is incredibly cheap.

It's the delivery charge that is killing you.

Yea- the first 375 KW is .046.
I can't complain about the overall bill however; my May22-Jun 22 gas & electric bill was only $138. July-Aug will probably be tween 150-160  w/ the increased A/C.

EDIT :: 151.79 for July

First of all, it is the vroom vroom noises that make owning personal transportation meaningful.  Electrification will only serve to further homogenize the car... into much less than what it is now.  Loud pipes save lives.

LET ME FIX THIS FOR YOU!

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong, Loud Pipes cause DEATH, Hearing Loss and are driven by selfish individuals that can only think of themselves.

Harley is a perfect example of a company that makes a product that should have never been allowed to skirt the rules to survive. Build a better product or die. The Noise DOES NOT save lives. I see more people hurt by the noise and freak out and almost hit the rider than helping them.

There is a difference between a tuned exhaust pipe and loud hurtful noise.

If you had truly spent any time test riding any of the electric bikes, you would see how much fun they are and their own unique sound they make.

'Loud' is relative- no one is advocating decibels so high it causes death.
But with many OEMs creating digitized, loud-speaker broadcast 'engine sounds' to warn pedestrians and offer 'audio appeal', the opposite is far closer to the truth- some noise is better than none.

Dead silent electric cars are much more dangerous.

The homogenization of the car is nearly complete already.  The vroom vroom noises you are hearing in the Mustang, CT6, and most German premium brand models isn't even real anyway, it is computer embellishment.  Buick, GMC Denali, Volvo and others use active noise cancelation to remove the vroom vroom noises whenever possible.

Automatic pedestrian braking saves lives, loud pipes do nothing for someone who is deaf.   It's 1919 and you're still arguing in favor of the horse and buggy.

But all of that is beside the point... you can still just let other people enjoy things.

I have little interest in hearing engine noise when driving, the quieter the better.  How about automakers do something about quieting HVAC fan noise?    I like a quiet interior so I can crank up the audio and hear the music...

I mean as long as you can get a diesel that can run on used frying oil, I guess that’s pretty sustainable as much as electric car?

I mean in a very limited use , so every time you run into a OCN every now and then. And you get your noise without being smug about it.
