I have recently been driving a pristine, '01 Saab 9-3 5door, which was recently acquired by my company.

Fun, roomy and very practical (my 70lb. dog can fit in the rear hatch area)...I really like the car...everything works, except a burnt out headlamp. Not a big deal, right?

Here's the issue: EVERY time you turn on the car, it's messanging center describes ALL of the car's current problems (low washer fuid, headlamp out)...in big, bold letters that sit there if you don't use the radio or manually clear them...

So, as a consumer, you are reminded of flaws each time you sit in the car. Could this influence people filling out surveys? I think it could. My wife notices it each time we use the car....It can't help...at least if it comes up as a reminder, let it shut off after some period of time...

Thoughts?

I suppose its possible. My Olds does the same and I don't think anything negative of it. I do think one particular readout is amusing. After about a half mile with the indicator, the car dings and reads "TURN SIGNAL ON ?"

Although, if that sort of subliminal programming works, maybe all GMs should display "Hey, check out that new Tahoe"

I think it should subliminally say "Toyota Sucks, GM rocks" through the radio.

My 04 GTO dings & pops up a picture of a park bench and a tree to tell me to rest when I have driven too long. Pretty funny and useless!

You at least chuckle inside and become a little more attentive I bet!

I'm sorry to hear that.

So now low washer fluid & a burned out bulb are "problems"?

I think most SAABs are lame but I don't think that the Sweeds should

be required to provide "bottomless pit w.w.f. resevoirs" or headlight

bulbs that never burn out. Maybe R.R. since their cars are overpriced

by $150K -to- $200K each.

Thoughts?
