So, in celebration of that most American of holidays, I thought a Dream Garage thread was in order. And what other rule to base it on besides the V8?

Rules on this one are sweet and simple-

1) American brands only.

2) V8 engines only.

3) Maximum of 10 choices.

4) I will allow one concept/one-off selection.

5) I will allow one non-street legal/racecar selection.

6) At least one truck/SUV option.

7) Any era is fair game.

I love that the 49-50 Mercury makes both of our lists.

2. 1930s Duesenberg SSJ supercharged straight 8. (Not a V8. True. But American muscle car all. The. Way. Garage Queen original and driven only on Sundays once or twice a year.

 

3. 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hot Rod resto mod pro-toured

Or stock Fuelie but with modern brakes and suspensions and stuff.

 

4. 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 455 stock or restomod. If stock, Garage Queen driven only on Sundays once or twice a year.

 

5. 1967 Pontiac GTO  400 CID stock or restomod.

6. 1973 Pontiac Trans Am restomod pro-toured or stock 455 SD

 

7. 1970 Lincoln Mark III resto-mod pro-toured

5.4 liter V8 Supercharged making at least 600 HP and 600ft. lbs torque

 

8. Jay Leno's  '66 Toronado....or at least hire the mechanics and engineers that did his and replicate one for myself.

 

9. 1969 Plymouth Road Runner or GTX 426 Hemi or 440 6 pack stock. Garage Queen driven only on Sundays once or twice a year.
