So found this, this morning and I have to say that Toyota will come out of this with a new Supra that should be very interesting and yet as I state in my title, I see more than a little Miata in this cameo car. According to the story, BMW and Toyota are building side by side on the same lightweight platform that underpins the I3 and I8 this new Z4 and what will be the return of the Toyota Supra. This should be an interesting release!

Same platform as the i3/i8?  I don't think so.... Those are both rear engine hybrids and this is clearly a front engine vehicle....

We'll the story says lightweight construction platform, could they just be saying how the i3/i8 are constructed which is heavy use of carbon fiber not the actual existing platform?
