The way the system is, at this point, you only get one a day so if you disagree and give that same person the downvote but can't the other 5 people it looks like you're singled out but you just don't have 5 more to give.

Also, why? Why do you care about somebody who 1: you claim to not care about. 2: its the internet 3: you and them literally receive nothing from a +/-1 .

I've said what I needed to say on it and this is taking the subject of the thread to far off course.

" There is a small group of posters here who will downvote a post simply because of who posted it.  It could be something as simple as "Air contains Oxygen" and they get downvoted for it.  That is what causes the irritation. Downvoting out of pettiness and personal vindictiveness is the problem... not downvoting due to disagreement. "

Happens to me all the time...It means nothing to me. I don't cry over it like a perpetual child.

Theres a saying...

don-t-get-mad-when-I-pull-a-you-on-you?s

I gave this an up vote because I thought it was funny.

Yet you got mad at me last week for not going after Olds on another thread while I criticized your post. How is that not also crying like a perpetual child? You have done the same thing when I criticize Ford but not GM (which is not true btw).

Anyway, this has veered way off the subject and maybe needs a thread of its own.

Refresh my memory. As I do not recall what you say.

You seem awfully one-sided with the voting thing. It doesn't matter why somebody gives your the +1, you just take it and run. But if it's a -1 you need an explanation.

Not just you, everybody who asks for an explanation for their -1's never complain about why they didn't get an explanation about their +1.

Not one sided but the study of society in general has shown that humans when they get a positive care less about why they got it than when they get a negative. This is very understandable, with that stated it also goes hand in hand with people being able to accept the negative when they understand why it was given even if they disagree with the negative.

Humans for the most part have always behaved this way. Very clearly it is a part of the psychology of our mind.

Call it one sided, but if you review human history, you see this pattern over and over.

I'll leave you with a hint.

Hockey and politics.

I said nothing whatsoever about Hockey. And how I know that? I lost interest in the NHL 4-5yrs ago over the labour dispute, and haven't watched a game since. I only watch the Juniors and Olympics.

As for politics...again I not once said " why aren't you going rafter Olds "...

Well you couldn't be more wrong on how that happened. Olds was going on about hockey and after that you interject with some remark about liberals on a car thread. I said politics had jack to do with the subject of the thread and you replied with "but hockey is", hence my hockey and politics hint. You tried to call me for putting you on notice and not Olds. My response was deleted to obvious reasons.

I never called you out for not going after Olds.

So back on topic, what other manufacturing assets does GM still have in South America?   Brazil I know, but not sure of other countries.

Agree, I know Brazil, but not sure of anything else in South America or central America besides Mexico.

@Drew Dowdell Do you know if GM has any other manufacturing besides what has been mentioned and if it is affected by Venezuela?

I have not found anything but then I could be missing it in my bing search.

Bogotá Columbia - Makes the Spark, Sonic, Sail, a Cobalt that is different than what we got here, an odd looking number called the Onix, and the Isuzu cab over trucks.

Gravatai Brazil - Chevy Onix/Prisma

Quito Ecuador - Astra, Aveo GT (our Sonic hatchback), Chevy/Suzuki Vitara

Rosario Argentina - Agile, Classic (AKA Sail), Cruze (the same one as we get)

São Caetano do Sul and São José dos Campos Brazil - A bunch of Gamma platform variants plus the Chevy S-10... the overseas version of our Colorado

I found this list on Wikipedia, not sure how accurate or up to date it is, worldwide plants.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_General_Motors_factories

Amazing, I had no idea GM had that many plants.

According to the list, current factories:

Bogota Columbia

Rio Brazil

Sao Caetano Brazil

Sao Jose Brazil

Quito Ecuador

Rosario Argentina

They have closed a number of plants in Central and south america:

Buenos Aires and San Martin Argentina

Arica Chile

Valencia Venezuela

this thread convinced me to oppose socialized medicine so you can all die sooner and bankrupt your dumb families too.

That is why I would divorce the wife, let her have everything and then become a ward of the state in my final days of dying. They can live on and I can be cremated and dumped in the hills someplace. :P

Obviously given the debate skills of some members in the thread...socialized education has failed.

This thread, explained in one simple graph.

The nice thing is that this also explains 90 percent of the other threads here at C and G also after a certain point...

Agreed,

I truly wonder if GM will be back to manufacturing auto's and selling auto's in Venezuela in the next 2-5 years. I wonder just how far the country will sink into self implosion before they throw out the whole so called Socialist government?

I doubt they will be producing autos there again anytime soon.... far too big a financial risk. Build them elsewhere on the continent and ship them.... if there is anyone left there who can afford to buy them.

Exactly....!
