Photos of the test model, not even the production E-class.  The E-class is the standard for interior and just about everything else in mid-size luxury sedans.  I don't like the piano black on the E-class, I wish there was a wood trim substitute for that, not sure if there is.

But then there is this with a lot of piano black:

And? The production model is no better unless you prefer the 80s Buick dash look.

That's a reach...80s Buicks were all about rectangles...I don't see anything Buick about modern Benz dashes..

Just the shape of the top of the dash reminds me of the shapes Buick used in the late 80s in to the early 90s. That just looks hideous to me.

XT5 sells because it is the only crossover in the show room.  It is also mid-size vehicle for the price of a small european crossover, I think that helps it with female buyers with a family that want space.  XT5 basically sells the same way the CTS sold in 2008-2013 era, it was a mid-size car for the price of a 3-series, that has appeal.  It is the same formula Lexus used on the ES and the RX.  It is a formula that works, but then you get into a situation that Lincoln and Lexus are in, where you have a mid-size SUV at $40k, and need to get a small and compact SUV below that.

There's room under 40k to start. Especially when we're talking smaller than XT5/MKX. Lincoln's MKC starts at 32k and MKX at 38k. Cadillac can do that exact same thing with the XT5/3 as the XT5 starts at 39k. Which happens to be almost EXACTLY what BMW and Mercedes do as the X1/3 start at 33k and 39k and the GLA and GLC start at 33k and 39k(give or take a couple hundred bucks).

Right except an XT3 is sized like an X3 or GLC, so it should be $39k and an XT5 like $52k if they were lining up with the Germans.  They are lining themselves up with Lincoln.

NO.. they are not gouging people for the sake of gouging them. U seem to revel in the idea of the Germans raping U raw... I kind of like the idea, for instance, that my Vseries starts off $10K less than the M5 and absolutely looks better and classier has a nicer interior to boot.. has been the epitome of reliability.. and when its called upon to fuck that Kraut Bitch up.. it delivers in spades.

Not quite. Also, there's noting wrong with lining up with Lincoln when it comes to SUVs. SUVs aren't sporty or athletic. They're driven mostly by soccer moms who legitimately have no clue which wheels are powered. They all offer a soft cushy ride.

Length/Width/Height in inches

Lincoln MKC: 179.2 / 73.4 / 65.2

GLC: 183.3 / 74.4 / 64.5

XT5: 189.5 / 75 / 66

MKX: 190 / 76.1 / 66.2

GLE: 192.9 / 78.9 / 68.1
