Nissan Group reports December and 2015 calendar year U.S. sales

 

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nissan Group today announced total U.S. sales for December 2015 of 139,300 units, an increase of 19 percent over the prior year and a December record. For calendar year 2015, Nissan set an all-time record with 1,484,918 total U.S. sales, an increase of 7 percent.

 

Nissan Division calendar year highlights:

  • In 2015, Nissan Division set an all-time record with 1,351,420 total sales.
  • Nissan also set annual sales records for Rogue, Versa, NV and NV200.
  • In 2015, Nissan's light-truck sales set an all-time record with 575,797 total sales and up 20 percent for the year.

Nissan Division December highlights:

  • Nissan Division finished December with 124,207 sales, up 18 percent and a December record.
  • Sales of the Versa subcompact set a December record at 11,058, an increase of 21 percent.
  • Sentra sales increased 28 percent with 19,760 in sales and set a December record.
  • Overall sales of Nissan crossovers, trucks and SUVs set a December record, up 41 percent.
  • The Nissan Rogue crossover set a December record at 26,479, an increase of 78 percent.
  • Sales of the Murano crossover increased 62 percent to 7,083 and set a December record.
  • Sales of the NV and NV200 each set best month ever records.
  • Nissan's total car sales set a December record with 68,934 in sales, up 4 percent.

Infiniti today reported sales of 15,093 vehicles in the U.S. during December, an increase of 25.7 percent versus the prior year making this its best month ever.

 

The new QX50 luxury crossover had its best December with an increase of 548.7 percent to 1,453 units. The QX60 7-passenger luxury crossover also saw its most successful month ever with sales of 4,987, an increase of 48.1 percent. In all, Infiniti crossovers and sport utility vehicles were up 64.6 percent over prior year.

 

Deliveries of the Q50 sports sedan were up 21.3 percent to 4,678 units. At a total of 43,874 units in 2015 this marked the Q50’s best December ever.
