More bad news for Volkswagen this week. Speaking with German publication Wirtschaftswoche, California Air Resources Board's (CARB) chair Mary Nichols said in their testing, only Volkswagen TDI models were found to have cheating devices.

"So far we have found in vehicles of other brands no fraudulent shutdown. This does not mean that all emissions are as we would wish. But there is nothing that comes close to the magnitude of the excess in VW vehicles,"

Nichols said CARB will continue testing diesel vehicles.

Meanwhile, Automotive News reports that Volkswagen has halted production of 2016 Passat TDI models at its Chattanooga, TN plant. No word on production was ended as a spokesman tells AN that he only learned about it today, but it's safe to assume it had to be some after the company withdrew its application for EPA certification on 2016 models equipped with the 2.0 TDI.

Automotive News says Volkswagen continued production of the Passat TDI even after the EPA announcement that the 2.0 TDI was found to cheat back in September.

Im sorry Drew. Im being a douche bag.

Im assuming you are of German ancestry...actually I have come to a well calculated conclusion that you ARE of German ancestry and I continually bash Germany with this VW scandal...and I just took a very nasty pot shot towards Germany on a day like today.

So...Id like to apologize for that. I dont mean anything by it.

Not towards you, nor MODERN Germany.

I respect you a lot, for the little internet knowledge I know about you and I otherwise LOVE Germany in its place in the world and its history.

There are many things I dont like about Germany's past regarding Greece, 1940s or 2010s...but I also undersand the circumstances behind those actions...

OK...point being...I dont have anything against Germany regarding VW....this is soley on VW's stupid CEOs...I just like to have some fun with it.

So...just disregard any dumb message I do about Germany and VW and WW1 or WW2 and this VW EPA emissions scandal.

I'm not German, I'm of English ancestry. I do speak just a little german.

I have close friends in Germany and try to visit there at least once a year.  I almost moved there a few years back because I really like the culture there.

Edit: Bash away at VW over this.  I think this is the entirety of Piech's ego blowing up the company.

Im wrong then.

Meh...it happens from time to time. Not often though. :spit:

Germany is a beautiful country. All of Europe actually is beautiful. The people...the people of Germany are great. Politics tends to get in the way. Same everywhere in the rest of the word.

OK...back to VW...

There was an article where Mercedes boss Dr. Deiter Zetsche called VW's scandal a blow to Germany's brand of Made in Germany to be tarnished.

Even if no other German brand was cheating, I wonder if his accusation holds some truth to it.
