Well, it was SUPPOSED to just be a 1,000 run between Edmonton and Fort Mcmurray.

Then I got the bright idea to do a day trip to Banff, via Red Deer and Rocky Mountain House, and double back through Calgary, because crazy.

Anyhoo, 1,927km later, after running through mountains, highways, and cities... 25.6mpg.

Not bad.

If you're in Las Vegas and eat chicken Caesar Salad, and find out that, it gives you the $h!, but you're stuck walking the strip, and almost crap behind some bushes, then you run into a casino and bust down the stall door and $h! all over the place!

Any TV/home theater experts around?

I bought some Playstation branded universal 3D glasses to use with my new Sony 3D TV (both glasses and TV use active IR 3D), but the glasses wont sync. I've updated the TV and scoured the internet to no avail. I'm hoping it's something stupid and easy that I'm missing. I've double checked that my new TV is compatible with standardized universal glasses, and both are made by Sony after all. The glasses have excellent reviews.

TV came with 3D glasses that DO WORK. Sync for them was automatic.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm losing my mind trying to figure this out.

Interesting issue, I found the following on this:

http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-Support/ps3-3d-glasses-are-not-working/td-p/39284785

Seems to be an issue from Playstation as I see other threads where the PS 3D glasses are hard to sync with various other manufactures.

I saw that article. My TV and the glasses are both Sony and are designed for the same 3D standard. The owner at the link had a 3D TV that wasn't using the universal standard that manufacturers came up with.

Don't know if this is a popular method for racing these days, but I have now seen it twice.

I was cruising home the other night about 11PM, and while cruising a 4 lane highway, I saw traffic started to back up.  About 3 cars ahead of me in the 2nd from left lane was a Hellcat, I could clearly see as I approached and to it's right was a Nissan GT-R.  The left most and right most lanes had basic vehicles running block, slowing down everyone to about 30mph, on a 70mph limit.  This went on for a few miles, letting the road safely clear way ahead of them.  Pretty exciting.  I had a great vantage point in my wife's Explorer.  Cars slowly started to exit to get away. Not me. I wanted to see a race.  I heard 3 taps of a horn, and OFF THEY FREAKING WENT!!!!   It was close at first, but then the GT-R pulled ahead  a few car lengths....and then they seemed to tie a bit, and then they were gone about 1 mile ahead.  I even sped up to about 80, but I bet they were clocking 150 by then.

Anyway, at least they did it safely.  Too many arseholes on the road.

And tonight was one of my favorite Woodward Cruise nights. About 1/3 of the normal crowd, but plenty of cars and people and good times.

Back again tomorrow.

If your career allows it, move to one of the more expensive areas of the country that has a growing population.

Because we have become much dumber as a society.

Still has to be programmed to the car.  The radio frequency will be new, so any older transmitters that still work will need programmed too.

There are some pretty..."unknowledgable" people over on the Escape forums as well. Mostly just average people looking for a solution to something small. There are plenty of real knowledgable people but that's only about a handful really.  So I feel for ya! lol

He's talking about just replacing the rubber pad with the contacts. Not the entire thing.

Cardinals gave up 7 runs in the first inning yesterday.. in a game that I had an opportunity to watch almost all of it. That sucked. But we came back to make it 7-5 in the 8th. But then gave up 3 more runs in the 9th.. lost 10-5. :(

Also, NFL network just wasn't working yesterday for whatever reason. I couldn't watch my Cowboys first preseason game. I typically enjoy the first three quarters to see how the 1's and 2's play and whos progressing and who may or may not make the 53 man roster. The 4th quarer in preseason games is usually not the greatest quality of football to watch. That's about making a play and a name for yourself to just try and make the roster. I think NFL teams enter training camp with max rosters at 90 players.. That's a lot to trim down from.

When choosing a campground, always pick one that allows you to pack light.  ;)  Have a good weekend, all.

I feel you, man. The Orioles can't get their sh*t together enough to make a play for the wildcard. Such a great roster of players, but it's such an inconsistent team this year. They go from the hottest team in baseball to cold fish from month to month. I don't get it. Buck is an amazing coach but he needs to get that under control.

On the bright side, my Ravens put on a fun show against the Saints last night. 3rd string QB gave up an interception with a few minutes to go, giving away the lead, then he crammed it down their throat with an impressive highlight-reel touchdown drive that Tyrod Taylor never could have put together (our worthless 2nd stringer the past several years). Won 30 to 27 with 2 seconds left on the clock. Stadium went nuts.

My son's cousin works as a valet at the local BMW dealer. I asked him what the BMW owners bringing their cars in were like.

His reply : "Entitled assholes, every last one of them. Want everything, right away, and for free."

Somehow, I wasn't surprised by that.

I've used 17 days of vacation/comp time this year so far, but I've also earned another 30 days (and counting) that I have to use by the end of the year.

You're a dick. I just started my current job a year ago(13 months) and I only have 16 days of PTO a year.. I don't think it goes up until my 5 year mark.

I need to stay the f@#k off Facebook for a while. I got sucked into TWO separate political arguments today alone. Both times, the people arguing with me didn't know anything about the subject or present facts, but I can't help responding to incredibly wrong statements. I f@#king hate arguing with ignorant people who DON'T KNOW FACTS and have no intention of being open minded.

I have 25 official days off per year, but I've been with the company 9 years in October.  However, because of my unusual amount of travel and off-hours work, I earn a ton of comp time also.  If I have to travel over a weekend or a holiday or even a 3 day weekend, I get those days back as comp days.

It may sound great that I have 30 days comp time to use, but the reality is that I've earned them by giving up my weekends and holidays (I was traveling on both Good Friday and July 3rd, officially days off for me).

Also, there is no chance in hell that I'll be using 30 days comp time by the end of the year. I have far too many projects coming up... and I'll be earning even more comp time in October and November.

So the reality is that my employer is taking advantage of me.

Ohhhhh.. yeah that is a completely different story than just hearing you have 47 days off a year.

Can you can paid for what you don't use at the end of the year? We're allowed to be paid for up to ten days a year if we don't/cant use them but also required to take 5 consecutive days off at some point to just get a break.

Hopefully you can get as many of those days off as possilble, bud. Everybody deserves a break. Especially ones working that much extra for their company.

Posted

I'm more on the mindset to use what is owed to me. They should have never asked me to calculate what I'm owed.

No, I don't get paid for it, I get to carry over 5 days to next year at best.
