A recent convert from MT. I have lots of experience with car audio if anybody needs help or wants to hash something out. I've mostly owned GM (especially Buicks). But I like something from almost every make.

Nice forum here. Great features.

Once upon a time I could've gone on for quite a while about car audio with you, but it's been at least 7 years since the last time I installed a stereo system.  My dad has had a business for years doing that, among many other sound/electrical jobs, and I used to work for him all the time.  Then I moved away, then back again, then away, then back again, but this most recent time back I just work too many hours to be able to do that any more.

It's been awhile for me too. The Aura XR I had last I had gutted the factory parts and had a fair system setup. Alpine PDX five channel, some high end Polk speakers, 12" Massive audio sub (not great) and a middle of the road Pioneer HU.

In my opinion much better overall than the A8L B&O system I sampled, but probably third best I had owned. I was always for trying to have a balanced system that could replicate more of a live feel.

It would cost almost a grand just to get a good HU in the taurus so I've just changed a few speakers and Dynomatted.

Didn't realize you were an audio buff Super. I have dabbled in car audio but I wouldn't call myself an expert. Just done my fair share of deck and amp installations on just about all of my rides.

I know a thing or two. I've never owned a car where the stereo stayed 100% factory. I never installed for a living, But have done things on all of my own cars and plenty of buddies too. I thought about becoming certified at one time. But as it was pretty much gauranteed to be a life of poverty and back breaking labor being made every more difficult to get by in by car manufacturers themselves, I just said screw it. Better as a hobby.

A personal favor / request : PLEASE try to NOT make it a habit of mass quoting image chains.  :dizzy:

I wouldn't worry to much. But on some instances, it is appropriate.
