Copied and pasted from my post in Motor Trend forums, to be honest:

I'm a salesman (just in case no one had figured that out), currently selling cars, but I've sold furniture, electronics and appliances, ran a meat department for a Wal-Mart, and done quotations, purchasing and sales for a machine shop, among other things.

I'm a vet, spent 5 years active duty in the US Army as a psychological operations specialist, and though I was lucky enough to not be sent overseas during the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, my work was used to try and save the lives of those that were deployed there.

I like to read (and write, too, though I've not had the guts to submit anything for publication), in particular horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and some mystery stuff.  I also have a huge movie collection, the majority of which follows similar lines to my reading tastes.  I very much enjoy video games, whether console or PC, but when it comes to console I'm a Sony guy.  Nintendo has some games I really wish would be available for other systems (Fire Emblem, Smash Bros., Metroid, etc.) but it's rarely worth dealing with a Nintendo console to try and play them.  The Halo series turned me off of Xbox systems, and really the only (non-timed) exclusives they've had for a long time that even interest me have been the Fable games.

I absolutely love to sing karaoke, used to go out multiple times a week, and I've won a contest or two in my day, but I have a wife and a son now and don't really get out anymore.  That's alright, though, they're better than karaoke and if I really want to sing I can always fire up some Rock Band.

I'm an Iowa boy and I love the Mississippi.  I've moved away a couple times (for example that 5 year stint at Ft. Bragg), but for better or worse I always end up back here.  Love my sports, football in particular, and in our family we root for Chicago in professional sports (Bears, Bulls, Cubs, Blackhawks, Sky, Fire, Rush (when they existed), and I'll even cheer for the White Sox when they don't play the Cubs) and Iowa Hawkeyes for college sports.

I don't know a lot about cars, but I'm learning.  I've always loved the look of a well-designed car, and greatly enjoyed driving, but never really cared about all the little details before.  I'm working on fixing some of that.  I think I have probably way over-shared by this point, but, eh, you'll have that.  I do tend to be a bit wordy.

Nice to have you here, Mr. Sean.

As you will see, I am my usual self in this forum. The happy, all over the place poster that has some nice,  funny and interesting things to say from time to time.

Glad you made it here.

I'm just trying to figure out where to start reading here.  At MT I knew I just wanted to read every active thread in the General or Drive-In sections.  This is better organized, by far, but that also makes it a bit more daunting.  It's got a very nice, clean look to it, and getting things to post on the first try is nice.  I just have to figure out the best way for me to navigate it now.  it helps to have so many familiar names, because if I see someone I recognize in a thread I know I'm on the right track.

You can grab all the latest posts by hitting the View New Content button in the upper right and work backwards from there.   Better get crackin, there's at least a decade of posts for you to catch up on.  :AH-HA:

Probably won't try to get caught up on quite that many posts, but there will definitely be some catching up.

I'm trying to add all the MT folks to my friends list so I can keep up with the people I'm used to, if I haven't added you yet it just means I haven't seen you pop up.  I'm sure I'll eventually add some of the folks that were already here as I get to know you all as well.

The friends list will turn to a followers list (technically, they're different) once the new software upgrade is installed in a few months. It will change the way things work, but hopefully by that time you'll know who everyone is.

Sounds awesome.  Just the fact that you guys are actively working on keeping the forums in good working order and the software up to date is really great to hear.  For MT forums "occasionally usable" would be a massive upgrade, and that particular upgrade may be a few years down the road at best.

Ah yes this was what I was looking for! MT had a NEW THREADS button just like this. Thank you!
