That spy shot is the first of the Opel, which will not be called the Frontera, despite many media reports. Previous shots and renderings were either misguided pre-S3X speculation based on the larger Equinox, or the Chevy version of the S3X.

will it be more 'nox or more S3X?

Don't know. But I would expect the Lambda to be a good indication.

We still have almost 2 years before the Vue is due. Edited by evok

Umm Lambda is an architecture, so therefore it has nothing to do with designing the Equinox. evok was saying that the Lambda (Saturn Outlook) probably gives a good look at what the Theta (next VUE) will look like.

The Opel Antara GTC concept makes its worldwide introduction at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany Monday, September 12, 2005. (General Motors/Olaf Gallas)

WOW! The Opel is perfect! Would make a perfect Saturn or Pontiac or Chevy. Just beautiful, and the T2x is clearly the ancestor of this car. The Opel just looks phenomonal from all angles. I am worried that we are seeing these cars too early and will have to wait now for introduction too long, the next Vue won't be for another two years, that's long.

Holy...! That thing is wicked. That should be a 2 door and a 4 door. It's a shame we have to wait a few more years for it to be the VUE (according to Ah-Ha).

The Germans sure like their chunky sport utes. I like this and especially that it is two door. I could see this in a drop top as well. Edited by HarleyEarl

It's sweet, I love it!

Autonews says it is in fact the next VUE. When I first saw it was going to be a VUE I thought maybe they got mixed up with the sub-Theta, but apparantly not.

Is that interior the prodcution version? If so, I think it looks really cool.

Autonews quote:

The Antara concept “will be identical to the future Saturn Vue,” GM Vice Chairman Robert Lutz said. “They can build it in a U.S. plant, and it will be identical.”

that interior is magnificent, definitely not production-ready, but it can be done pretty close to this, and those colors are fantastic....I want the 2-door version to come here too.

that 2 door version is wicked. i LOVE it. the 'c pillar' shape looks suspiciously Saaby, or kinda Euro like the outgoing 3 series coupe. Maybe this thing will be a Saab at some point. GM/Saturn needs this thing NOW. NOW THAT would be an awesome Vibe or Torrent.

LEXUS ANYONE!? I find it really hard to believe im the first one to notice that this thing looks like a knock off of that lexus. i love the looks of it but hate that it resembles a toyota
Posted
I'm not seeing the Lexus knockoff except that the taillights are silver on both of them. BTW, the RX looks like it has about 2 feet of ground clearence in that pic because the Antara is so low.
Posted
YES!!

GM is admitting it'll be identical to the next VUE! And I'll be among the first to see it at NYIAS! B)

I highly doubt the side exhausts will go into production, unless less Lutz was serious that it will be produced exactly as is. I'm thinking he meant more like 95% as is with smaller wheels, different door handles, different roof (without the glass), and probably regular exhuast.

We've got another thread about this, but it's cool if we have two. I absolutely love this vehicle, and if the new ION is as good, it will take the compact market by storm. The interior looks sweet, very futuristic yet not totally out there like the Quest. The exterior is stunning as well.

I kinda like the old VUE better... thought it fit Saturn's image better, but oh well, people will buy it. They might as well rename Saturn as Opel.
