Maserati North America, Inc. Reports Top July Sales in its History

  • 315.6% Percent sales gain posted in July, compared with same month one year ago
  • Triple digits sales surge; Ghibli and Quattroporte spearhead strong momentum of continued sales growth
  • Dealership network expands with five new additions this July
  • Alfieri sports coupe concept to debut in Monterey, CA

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Aug.1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Maserati North America, Inc. continues to shatter records, today registering (1172 retail units) sold representing the strongest July sales month in the brand's one-hundred year history. This reflects a significant 315 % percent increase compared to July 2013 (with sales of 282 units), driven by the Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans.

Maserati North America, Inc. is on target to rapidly expand its dealer network. The expansion includes the addition of five new dealerships in July totaling 97 dealerships today, including Virginia Beach (VA), Arlington (VA), Kirkland (WA), Louisville (KY) and Greenville (SC). In total, the dealer body is expected to include nearly 120 dealerships by the end of the year. Peter Grady, President & CEO of Maserati North America, Inc. is determined for North America to remain the brand's global market leader.

The development of the Maserati product range to include models that compete in product segments new to the brand – including the recently introduced Ghibli midsize performance sedan (E Segment) – is likewise a centerpiece to the Trident's burgeoning future. The Maserati Alfieri 2+2 concept, the precursor for a new production model that will compete in the high-performance coupe segment, will make its North American debut at Monterey Car Week on the California coast in August.

The Alfieri is a fully-functional prototype that signals the design DNA of Maserati's future, providing a preview of Maserati's imminent innovations and further evidence of the brand's strategic production plan.

Today, at the brand's century mark, Maserati is recognized as a global automotive player at the strongest position of its lifetime with an expanding product line, all-time high sales records and a prosperous future.

I just read a story a couple of days ago where someone said the Ghibli is the worst car they had ever driven.  Over dramatization for sure and the whole article was stupid.  Obviously there are a lot of folks out there that like it.  If I had $70k to spend on a vehicle, I'd consider one.  I like the oddballs, though, which is why I'm a former Saab owner and still a Saab lover. :)

This is a product line that is over rated and over marketed and still no better than an entry level GM or Ford product. Just kill the stupid product line.

My respect for you went up dramatically with this post. I love oddballs!

Maserati could sell on sex appeal alone. To me at least.

Quoted for truth.

On the contrary, we have too few unique car makers here.

If we could get the Gov and EPA to get out of trying to dictate the auto industry, we could have some amazing auto's.
