June Motor Trend.  they pick the Civic SI.  practically gushing.  BLECH>

The only Non-US car I would ever buy (excluding Ford and GM nameplates, Volvo, SAAB, Jaguar, etc.) would be a VW. Never driven one, but the GTI appeals to me a LOT more! Any VW appeals to me a LOT more than ANY Japanese vehicle! VW just has a higher class vehicle. Just my opinion though.

i would agree, even with how often some VW's are in the shop.

scratch edmunds off the list, they are a bunch of hacks with no cred.

motor trend is off the list because their editorial team is overpopulated with pimple faced hacks now

take away consumer reports too, they know how to judge toasters but no so much cars.

I'd take the GTi.

It's got European refinement (regardless of reliability) and comes free of a ghastly interior unlike the Civic.
