They both look awesome.  What an improvement.  I have an 03 Avalanche, and I would buy the 07 in a heartbeat if I were in the market.

you saw an avalanche on the road or on a dealers lot?

hope they are here soon... :pbjtime:

I love these new ones even more, particularly the Suburban--just a gorgeous truck, and SO much nicer than our '04.

:scratchchin: notice that none of them have NAV in them...I have noticed that 99.9% of the units showing up on the lots here ( Tahoe/Denali/Yukon ) have not had NAv in them for a while. The dealer I bought mine from said mine was the last NAV one they have had for a while. Is there a problem getting the nav systems all of a sudden?

If you have not driven one of the 900's with NAV - do so - the stereo and other controls and information are 100% better in the nav system than the regular center stack - just the ability to read the songs on XM at a glance make it worth it.

The new 'Burb and Ava are beautiful units. They will sell very well.

There was a 95% hold on NAV radios. I hear there is still at 30% hold, but now there are some trucks coming off the line again WITH NAV. The Avalanche I saw yesterday was loaded, but did NOT have NAV. The Burb DID have Nav.

I have had a Yukon XL Denali on order now for 8 weeks. Fully loaded. I hear the NAV was holding up my order, but now it will be produced this week.

Finally! I can't wait any longer!

we probably have about 10 tahoes with nav... and one suburban with nav...

Problem with the the lack of production was due to the fact that all the Chevy dealers were ordering a ton of LTZ Tahoes with nav and when it came time to build the XL and Denali, there weren't enough nav units made yet.

Yep, that sounds right. From what I've seen, dealers are focusing most of their orders on full-boat, 4wd models just like with the last gen. I guess that's what sells the most, though...even if they are pretty pricey.

Not only are they selling the most, but with sales so slow right now (at least at my dealership) it's the only thing that we can make any money on. I sold 4 Denalis with nav last month and the lowest we went on any of them was $1500 below sticker. Everything else last month was close to invoice just to move some inventory.

Gilbert-  Have you seen any XL Denali(s) come through yet?

The wait is really killing me now.  Maybe I should just go buy a Ford.  ;)

Just be patient...they said all along that the XL Yukons would come later, and that stayed true. It will surely be worth the wait :AH-HA_wink:

Saw a new LTZ Avalanche up at the dealer (Calgary) today, while getting the wife's Optra serviced.

Wow. Was lukewarm on them when announced without cladding and disappointed to see that they copied the front end of the Tahoe/Burb as opposed to it being unique like the current cladded version is...but man, it looks badass in black up close, as opppsed to Auto-Show Orange when I saw it in March.

Its beefier on the side panels then current gen uncladded version, and just looks like a big badass truck.

Nevermind the interior, I have to find a way (promised the wife I'd "downgrade, $$ wise for the next vehicle) to get myself in one of these, even an LS if it looks anything the same (wheels will be smaller, that can be changed) when the lease comes up on my 04 almost fully loaded black Av Z71, come the fall.

Hopefully the leases stay the same (term wise, 2.5 years 0.2% interest, as I got on mine in 04) on these Avs..or, the Tahoe's come down from their ridiculously high lease rates currently (for the current gen models), to make the sell job that much easier.

The plan is/was for a 06 Impala SS, as finally there's an engine in there I can love...but fallen in love with the Av over the past 3 years (had an 03 for a year), so it will be tough to give up and justify...but this truck exceeded expectations of something I already enjoyed.

The 'burban is a beautiful big beast, isn't it? I like that dark blue.. now if they'd only offer a Z06 package (500hp 6.0 V8, IRS, 6-spd manual.. :)

...and a power folding FLAT 3rd row.

Well, yeah, see but that's not possible without some MAJOR re-engineering. I think they realized how great a feature that was and how nice the seat itself is in the Expedition/Navigator, but with keeping the solid rear axle, GM couldn't do that.

Hence, they took the "coolness" of a power fold seat and put it on the middle row where it's fun, but not particularly useful.

The 3rd row is and always has been my mother's biggest complaint with her Suburban, and that was the first thing she asked me about if it had been changed when I showed her the new ones...followed by the power liftgate. At least the seat is now split so a single person can remove the pieces (and not 2 people, even though I usually lug it out myself) and they DID add a power liftgate.

Pretty much every SUV out there now has a flat folding 3rd row though, even the shorter Durango with a solid rear axle, so that is one area I still think GM could have done a LOT better with...even if it meant coming up with something no one had done before.
