Cheers or Jeers: Budget Batmobile

Holy Smokes! -One off- Salute to Batman TV show’s 1966 Batmobile. Here is your chance to cruise just like the Caped Crusader of Gotham City fame.

Donor car =1988 Ford Escort GT 1.9 turbo 5 speed with 132,300 Miles. Tagged and emission- tested as street legal in NJ. “Bat” is the most photographed vehicle of The Tri-state region . It is the most fun you can have without getting pulled over . Though Cops- my fellow crimefighters- have stopped the Batmobile, they quickly apologize for their lights and then enthusiastically ask for photos.

This crowd drawing , eye-catcher was originally a garden variety 3 door hatchback before clever structural modification by creator Paul F. of Minnesota : box tubing welded to frame- roll bars of race car roll bar stock- wings are tubed frames with sheet aluminum skin – Only fiberglass in 3 small areas- nostril cowl; across top of windshield frame and insert of triangulated trunk lid (modified from original hatchback). Signature chrome/red Batmobile 3 pipe tree is live exhaust as well as the double wall turbo blaster (between tail lites) with red LED insert. inside Hood's Nostril cowl and below front bumper each has legit emergency red strobes. Engine tranny, suspension, drive train are all stock . Interior Bat gadgets: Bat Phone (the only car phone in the US in the 60's, except maybe Elvis!) , Batman Command Console, Bat gadget labels as shown and loop cassette of Batman's 66 theme that can blare from the moveable speakers behind the seats. This crime fighting vehicle is finished in the 21st century update of “ Bat –Fuzz” which protects it from Explosive devices, IED’s etc. Ha! (aka Herculiner)

This unmatched attention getter can be your cruiser, car show hit or money making machine.

ONLY the Batmobile is included in this auction. But if you up to assuming a superhero alter-ego - inquire about the availability of my authentic replica 1966 Batsuit (see pix) which when seen by Burt Ward (TV’s original Robin) @ NY Comic convention - he said that it looked as good as what West wore on the’66 show.

Ask your questions before bidding – Remember Batman actually fought crime in S. California weather so It is a permanently open car and tucked into the Bat Cave when not in Community service /appearances. What do you do when a storm comes ? …. Well the term “Bat Run” best describes what is about to happen next !

Sold strictly As Is condition. No warranty or refund. Buyer responsible for all shipping arrangements, pick up costs & cost of wired funds . NO PAYPAL . Deposit of $1,000.00 within 3 days of auction win by wired funds . Payment in full- by wired funds which must clear before pick-up /shipping and within 7 days of auction win.

Car is located in central NJ 08690. Serious Bidders with established good feedback welcome to bid and request In –person inspection.

I like the fact he took the console out of an early 80's Fox body Mustang and printed "Bat Scanner" next to the warning lamp monitor. I mean sure this thing needs to be burned and after the fire dies out, burned again, but it's still great for a laugh. With that said, joke or not, I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing.
