A thread for this month. Car spots here. Something new, something unusual, something cool (literally, it is December y'all) or something old and classic.

Went out for brunch today, saw some interesting cars.. At a neat midcentury modern style furniture store next door to the restaurant, there was a red '57 Chrysler Imperial coupe in the carport..in sold shape overall, some cracks in the paint and AZ fade (the hood was almost pink). Behind the store was a similarly solid and faded orangish '60s Volvo P1800 coupe. Also saw a couple of ATSes out and about around town this morning...a silver one and a bright red one.

Hard to think of it as December w/ nearly 80 degree weather..

2013 Lincoln "Town Car" as badged at the gas station. MKT for livery service, first I've seen of a 2013, and badged both MKT on the back and Town Car on the sides. Also interesting for fleet was the choice of wheels from the pre-refresh Ford Flex lower end models but with Lincoln center caps.

Saw a new Fusion for the first time on the road yesterday, dark blue. Noticed they have one neat retro detail--the old style meet-in-middle wipers...cool.

I like the new XVs. I drove one back in September and even got the chance to take it off road. I got myself in a bit of a pickle and ended up on the wrong off-road course designed especially for the Land Rovers. But being little and maneuverable, I was able to go around the obstacles I was supposed to be climbing over.

Yesterday at Costco:

Brand new dark gray 2013 GMC Acadia at the gas station, family on board filling up. Looks GREAT in person, very, very well detailed and more modern than before. Cool updated ute now.

Fantastic pix, Oldsmoboi!

On edit: Drove to the Twin Cities and back over the weekend. Like the rest of youse, I keep my eyes peeled for interesting vehicles. I *still* haven't seen a new Dart on the road. But I did see an early 1960s Peterbilt COE!

There is a guy on the C&G Facebook page asking what kind of car that Blue and White one is. I know what it is, but I'm hoping that one of you guys will go on there and help him out.

I was with the fire police last night for a special holiday assignment in Cookstown, NJ (New Egypt/Wrightstown areas). The Cookstown Fire Department is an original owner of a 17,000 mile 1971 Chevrolet K-20 Custom Deluxe 4x4 stepside pickup (built May 1971 per the GM door sticker):

Sorry they're smallish... they were taken with my Droid cell camera. I plan to go back and visit them with my digital camera and will see if they will pull it out of the garage for some outdoor shots. You can't imagine how excited I got when I peeked in the garage door window to see what was parked in the bay :o

The pix came through just fine...thanks again!

When I was still farming with my dad, we had a 1970 K20 CST pickup. That fire dept. truck reminds me a lot of our old beast (though ours was the "styleside" with a full box).

Like 1/2 an inch, right?

Depending on where you are, south end got a dusting of wet slippery stuff, I got 3 inches at my house and Northgate just north of Seattle had about 1 inch or so that this Telsa was just spinning in and the driver kept reving it thinking it would get traction as I passed him on the left in my durango. :P

That Escalade ESV (Platinum?) belongs to the North American president of my pharmaceutical company. He also has a black 2011 Camaro SS/RS convertible (red leather interior) and I believe a Mercedes sedan. The last president was also a Cadillac man, having a CTS and an Escalade ESV among 3 other vehicles (1 a Mercedes too). Both men are European sent from our Denmark HQ; they both have an affinity for Cadillacs :smilewide:

Sat in, and started up, a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS in Cyber Gray with sunroof this afternoon. Very snazzy little beast. :scratchchin:

EPA fuel mileage ratings are 27/34 (v. 29/40 for the non-RS models with 1.4t). It's gotta be in the gearing changes that come with the RS package. At the EPA 30 mpg average and a 12.2 gallon tank, that translates to a 366 mile range... enough to go to work all week and enjoy a weekend drive before stopping for dino juice... v. an approximate 270 mile range with the Patriot.

Kind of a sad old Clipper. Someone had reuppholstered the interior with cheap @ssed vinyl. Depressing.

1960's Chevy window van in black primer, with what appeared to be an aluminum tray on the roof... not sure if it was the remnants of a pop-up sleeper.

From a few days back...an all new redesigned black Range Rover carelessly weeving in & out of traffic, with NJ dealer plates. Had to look closely to see it was different because the stature & lines are so much the same, but it is new.

Didn't think these were on ground yet, must have been one of the first.
