Audi may suspend high-end car production if slump deepens

Reuters has reported that Volkswagen's Audi division will suspend A7, A8 and R8 production in the first of 2013 is Euro Slump widens.

Odd since they were thinking of making an R10 super car based on the Le Mans race car with a 700 hp TDI engine. But perhaps they know the new S-class goes on sale next year and no one will be buying the A8.

who can afford all the high end stuff? Plus for its volume, Audi has a lot or way too many models.

No one buys the A8 now... dunno what the future S-class has to do with that.

No one buys the A8 now... dunno what the future S-class has to do with that.

True, it has never been able to break through against the S-class and 7-series. But if their new A8 can't sell against a 7 year old S-class, I imagine a rough year is in store when the new S-class goes on sale.

One might think the need for alarm is already there.
