Infiniti is looking at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show to introduce the next-generation G. This news coming from the Infiniti's design chief Shiro Nakamura.

Nakamura also revealed that the next G will be "much sportier and more dynamic thanthe current car". Much like the current G lineup, the next generation will include a sedan, coupe, and convertible. The next-generation G will also have gas and diesel engines from Mercedes-Benz.

Infiniti will likely introduce the G sedan at Geneva, with the coupe and convertible following sometime later in 2013 or early 2014.

I still dont see the Nissan based engines as being so inferior to the MB engines! Could they not afford the next gen of their own engines so they move to MB engines instead? Will they be smaller say future 2.5L DI Turbo MB V6's to replace the older NA 3.5/3.7L nissan based units so as to save both cost and fuel for the upcoming regs? This still seems like a strange move to me on their part!

The 3.5/3.7 is aanncciieennt, one has to wonder if there simply isn't the money to develop a new V6 @ nissan.

But buying a competitor's engine is 'giving up', IMO.

Nissan isn't giving up the V6s.. This is for the Mercedes-Benz four-cylinders

Well that makes even less sense then the V6's! The G model is a V6 powered model not an I4 powered one at least not yet! What wonderful I4's does MB have that are so much better then the Nissan units?---This is getting weirder by the moment!!---First I was hearing MB platforms would be used by Infinity and now its V6's and I4's! None of this makes sense unless Nissan and Infinity are in serious and unreported financial trouble!!
