Cheers or Jeers: 8,000 Mile 1985 Chevrolet Cavalier

This is a 1985 Chevrolet Cavalier Type 10 with 8,400 actual 1-owner miles. This car was bought new here in Auburn, IN and has been stored in a heated garage it's whole life. It has never seen snow or salted roads. There is no rust and no interior wear. Everything works as it should. It is 100% original and needs nothing.

What can you buy for $7500 with 8,000 miles that will get 30 MPG?

We have the original window sticker, letter from the dealer to the buyer, maintenance receipts, etc. This car does have A/C, tilt, cruise, power locks, power steering, and power brakes. Again, everything works and the car is near mint. You will not find one nicer anywhere!

Buy it to drive or keep as an investment.

For $1000 it would be worth it to buy it and drive it, but not at this outlandish price. This is NOT an investment vehicle. What a joke.

Dude needs to reign in the pricetag.

True.

These cars don't go for a grand...hard to believe, they are classics now. (at least this generation of them)

For the shape, 3-4 isn't bad....

2.0L engine in 1985 - ~80HP

Albeit turbocharged but still, you've come a long way GM.

Interesting comparison. Let's see, the 2.2L got up to around... 160hp? The 1.8L now being used is ~140hp? Better fuel economy to go along with the higher power too.

The original 2.2L OHV like I had in my Cavalier had 100-120hp depending on application...

I saw one even older in traffic in clean shape the other day...a beige '82-83 Cavalier CS 4dr.

There is 'clean' and then there is '8000-mile clean'.

True, but it's still just a Cavalier. It's an uncommon sight to see one of these still on the road (or any early J-car).
