Bright blue new Equinox, re-painted (definitely not just a wrap), with a construction company logo. Interesting move. Must be their specific color.

It appears you've seen a MOUNT CONSTRUCTION vehicle. They're based in southern NJ (Berlin) and can be found everywhere in and around the NJ-PA area. All of their vehicles are painted that light metallic bright blue:

I've seen some pretty interesting vehicles painted in their blue color!

The guy I work with that I've posted a picture of his red '71 Caddy has brought his '61 Caddy convertible to work today. A crappy cell phone camera shot from his third floor office, for your enjoyment :P

*UPDATE*

I snapped a close-up shot when I left work yesterday:

Sweet ride. I wonder why people cannot park square in the parking spaces. I would be afraid some moron would ding this lovely lady! :P

91 Escort GT white just like I used to own back in the day. :P That was a hell of a pocket rocket Mazda built for Ford.

An all new Hyundai Azera in white pearl at the King of Prussia mall, looked dealer fresh. Wasn't sure when these were hitting.

At first looked to me like a loaded Sonata then thicker. I stopped to check out closer, in the dark tonight.

All very clean.

'78-'79 Cutlass Supreme coupe in period blue, looking worse for wear, idling in the grocery store parking lot, emitting a distinctive V8 burble.

First-gen (to the USA) Toyota van 4WD, in blue, must have been a panel van, because it had big rectangular swing-out windows. Traveling under its own power through Lancaster. Even had a new muffler. Middle age hippie driver. Definite patina.

Walking over the Seine in Paris today. Here is something I didn't expect to see parked... well... anywhere in Paris.

Then, just up the street I found a Chevrolet Cadillac dealer that doesn't seem to have any new vehicles, but has these two in the window

I also spotted a brand new VW Up!. After seeing it in person, I feel that VW made a serious mistake not bringing this car to the US. VW could have cleaned house with this little car.

I have more pics of this, but I have to erase the guy's registration number before I post them... and it is nearly midnight here. I may go to the VW dealer near my temp flat in Cologne and take a closer look at one.

Wow...Parisian Oldsmobiles. Cool. Reminds me of when I saw a couple '80s Caprices and '80s F-150s in Florence, Italy...

Clean 98 Dodge Durango. A rather large collection of 300 series BMW's in the parking garage. I swear all the engineers are such droids when it comes to cars. Not much variety here in my company parking garage.

I really like that color. Would look great on a sports car.

and that VW Up! isn't bad either. would have made a good Scion iQ/Dumb ForTwo/Mitz iMiEV competitor.

Puerto Rican neighbor had a friend over... with an early (4-headlight front end), longbed red and primer LUV truck! How it survived decades of Northest winters, I'll never know.

Local Dodge dealer is marking down Challengers, sawr a brand new Blue Streak R/T manual on the lot that looks mighty good... hmmm...

And a dark green '80 Monte Carlo with tan interior, tin top and aluminum slotted mag wheels.

All of these were spotted on the streets of Cologne just today (Saturday)

First up, an Opel Kapitan being used as a wedding car.

Then we spotted this Citroen SM in the city center. Those of you who haven't seen him before, can see my Albert waiting patiently in the background of one of the pictures for his car-freak partner to finish taking pics.

New white 2013 Taurus Limited with NY tags. Small changes but the front end and new wheels improve the presence.

Old light blue Corvair sedan on the street in Philly tonight.

Add in a smooshed red new Camaro 1LT being trucked away from the Chevy store next door to work today. Like an accident but not. More so like an elephant backed into the driver's door and roof.

^^Too cool in France!

Me...a black 2009 G8 GT Sport cruising beside me from home to work yesterday on 76. I love this car. Still looks so great on the road, and I miss mine daily. Either buying another one or the new Chevy SS in years to come if and when I ever to own a car again...

It recently was "ugly green day"... first saw a 4th gen Trans Am in neon snot green... but was unable to get a shot of it... but I did catch this snazzy seafoam green Cavalier with black stripes.

Saw a beige 4x4 early '60s Dodge Power Wagon wagon...big humpy thing that kind of resembled a mid-50s Suburban style body.

Posted

Saw a very cherry 88 suburban at the park and ride. I think the person must have just finished restoring it as the interior was spotless and the paintjob was perfect along with the underside being so clean you could eat off it. Had I think an 8 inch lift. was very nice.

Also saw and talked with a guy who has a 93 GMC 2500 suburban. His was redone for total off roading and ease of cleaning out. The whole body inside and out was covered in LineX. He says he never has to worry about scratches or moldy carpet. He has rubber floor mats on top of the LineX sprayed on the inside. Even the door panels are covered in the stuff. Pretty amazing black Suburban with limo tinted windows.

Two very nice and yet totally different rides. :D

More new Chevy Captivas everywhere. On Sunday, another Mocha Bronze "loaded" one with AWD and V6 badging, a younger couple driving around. This was the 4th I had seen in 2 days. Thankfully, still a very nice design from Saturn/Opel that lives on freshly.

Posted

2012 Chevy Equinox in black, blacked out windows, Powder coated black rims with v6. Very cherry of a ride. :P

Can you buy a Captiva retail now?

Not sure of the answer, but our sales reps (pharma company) are allowed to use their company-purchased vehicles for personal uses too, in addition to work duty. So it's possible that someone driving a Captiva could be driving a company car on personal time.

Posted

While that may be true, I can't imagine someone buying a Captiva 3.0 LTZ AWD for $31k as a company vehicle.... and yes, those are available.

It's odd. Those are mostly all I see. One day last week I finally saw 2 "lower" models with gray lower cladding and painted, not polished wheels. Looked dead on like a Saturn Vue XE. Otherwise, mostly loaded and V6'd with dual exhaust.

Posted

I've only seen two up here and they were both the lower end models with the 4cyl, but they appeared to be company cars rather than part of a rental fleet.

Posted

So far I've spotted two in my company's parking lot, one more of the basic variety and the other of the more upscale variety. With my pharma company paying, most of the reps go top-of-the-line with their vehicle purchases.

Yeah, but if you're going to do that, why not just get a 'Nox or Terrain?

WOW, Out my window at work, I see a 2 year old Nissan Tundra smoking and dropping oil. I can see the drops on the rain covered streets. Sad when a person abuses their ride and ends up with burnt rings, smoke out the tailpipe and dripping oil on the street. :(

I had tremendous, glorious (and all too brief- 10 mins) enjoyment piloting this baby around this morning.

Felt like a Saudi prince (whatever that feels like  ) :

DSC01503.jpg

DSC01507.jpg

Back seat was cavernous, as were the rear door openings. Note the lit retractable writing tables & carpeted foot rests. That's a giant slab of solid American Walnut on the doors. Upholstery was some amazingly thick material, still smooth & soft in an obviously unrestored car.

THIS is what mercedees benchmarked when they took 3 decades to bring the s-class up to American luxury standards.

I am going to have ask his bottom price, initially he said he was going to ask $5500. :nono:
