    • Jeers! Should pay me to take it considering the obnoxious blowhard and elitist prick that owned it.

Cheers or Jeers: 8,000 Mile 1951 Cadillac Series 62

This well preserved 1951 Cadillac Series 62 two Door Coupe is a piece of history whose condition is commensurate with the 8551 miles on its odometer. This was the favorite personal driver of David E Davis, the flamboyant automotive journalist widely known as the contributing writer, editor and publisher at Car and Driver magazine and founder of Automobile magazine. Davis was a fixture in the Automotive Community for over 50 years and well known for the highly critical style that he brought to his automotive magazines. This 51 Cadillac epitomized the best of the best and earned his ever critical nod of approval. The beautiful Bolero Maroon Exterior is highlighted by the large amount of exterior chrome that Cadillac was known for. All of the exterior chrome trim and brightwork are complete and sparkle like new. Very good panel fit and finish add to its appeal Wide Whitewall tires and rear fender skirts round out the exterior. Looking underneath you can see that the all original undercarriage is nicely detailed and solid including the frame rails, floor pans and rocker boxes. The enormous trunk houses a full sized spare tire, jack and tools with enough room left over for luggage, golf clubs and anything else you need. The smooth running 331cu overhead valve V8 is robust and surprisingly economical. It delivers performance worthy of one of the world’s finest automobiles in that era and is backed by the GM Hydramatic Automatic Transmission. The well preserved Tan Cloth Upholstery and Panels are in exceptional “time-warp” condition and every switch, gauge, instrument or accessory functions as it did when it left the factory including the Clock, AM Radio and Rear Defogger. The driving experience is incredible! This is a BIG car. Seating front and rear is expansive and comfortable. Driving down the road you immediately notice how smooth the ride is. The steering is tight and the V8 will get you thru traffic with little effort. This 51 Cadillac stands out from it peers due to its incredible condition and originality. It is a well preserved piece of history would be just as comfortable in any collection or on your next cross-country road trip. We have just completed a through TLD inspection, service and detail to make sure that every aspect of this car is fully sorted out. It must be seen to be truly appreciated.
