  1. 1. Cheers or Jeers?

    • Cheers! A bargain at twice the price!

    • Jeers! That engine doesn't look very clean. Plus who wants a car that you can wouldn't want to drive for fear of damaging it?

Cheers or Jeers: 15,000 Mile 1994 Pontiac Firebird Formula

Pull up your favorite chair and look at this very special 1994 Pontiac Firebird Firehawk - (option #UP3) 2-door hatchback. With only 15000 miles on a numbers matching LT1 V-8 and mated to a 6-speed Borg Warner manual transmission with a “Skip Shift” feature you must read on. Painted in Flame Red over a Gray leather interior that is better than new. This car has been meticulously cared for by its owner, which always adds up over the years. The body is free from rust, and all panels and gaps are nice and straight. This Firehawk is optioned well with power steering, power disc & anti-lock brakes, power door locks, power windows, AM/FM equalizer radio with a cassette player, T-tops, a tilt-matic steering wheel, cruise control, air conditioning, stainless steel dual exhaust system, gas-charged shock absorbers and much more. Many achievements were reached in 1994 for Firebirds. This was Firebird’s 25th year of production and it was celebrated with a special edition. Convertibles were re-introduced, but the other, very important achievement for 1994, was a very special – Firehawk Edition. Mark the option #UP3 and you received the SLP edition which gave you, among others, a twin nostrils on the hood which added more air coming into the engine, special 17” Firehawk alloy wheels with special 275/40X17” tires and code #1LE suspension. What makes this car so very special is only 500 copies ever made their way to SLP for this year. And this is 1 of only 255 that were blessed with a 6-speed manual transmission. And one more very rare feature was this was only 1 of 164 that came with the beautiful Flame Red paint. This is a survivor. All panels, seats, carpets appear to be the original that came off the line. In 1994 Collector Car said this. “While US performance cars have come and gone over the years, only one has survived, running non-stop (from Detroit’s high powered heydays some 25 years ago, through the gauntlet of ever-tightening emission standards, growing safety concerns and always-frightening insurance obligations), to continue to stand tall.” Further adding to this car’s desirability, this is only a 2-owner car. The jack and spare tire are also present as well. You really won’t get many opportunities to buy a Firehawk like this. Call a sales associate and him walk you around this car. You will not be disappointed.

Hmmm....

Couple things need further investigation on this one.

No such thing as a 1LE '94 Firehawk for one.

I also think they got the Firehawk option code wrong

I'd like to see some documentation on this one

Still, nice car - and I've always loved the wheels on the 93/94 Hawks.
