The year has already started off as a whimper so I'm completly expecting to peddle through a year of total mediocrity as a broke, 22-year old college dropout.

New year, new job. Have some racing-related trips planned, maybe an overseas vacation mid-summer. Want to expand my technical skills with a few new things. Planning to attend a conference in summer. Hoping no dogs pass away this year, but one is 14 (on heart medications) and one is 13... Need to visit family in Ohio.

Hope to keep the Jeep running another year or two, nothing major needed right now, but the A/C needs recharged before summer.

Optimistic about 2012 overall.

ADDITIONAL 2012 SNAPSHOTS

...CARDIAC REHAB:

I started this the same day I returned to work, 01/06/2012 (the 9th anniversary of my 3rd open heart surgery). So far, I like CR. The staff at the center seemed impressed with what I accomplished just the 1st day; it seems to be a nice stress reliever, definitely needed due to work issues.

...BOARD & GROUP:

As owner, I'm renewing efforts to keep 1 Monte Carlo-specific board (3rd generation) & 1 MC-specific group (6th gen) alive....

"Get out there and find someone" __ Good Charlotte __ 'I Don't Want To Be In Love'

2011 was a turbulent but mostly good year for me.

* Big change breaking up with the GF of many years because life was taking us in different directions. After a month or two of awkwardness we found our way to a close friendship and stay in touch.

* Moved from the suburbs into NYC

* Sold my Mustang. Living in the city and rarely driving it I couldn't justify the expense of keeping it. This is my first time without a car since I got my license 10 years ago.

* I graduated from Iona College after 7 years of attending part time. I can't believe I'm finally done!

* I had my most successful year ever professionally

2012 I'm trying to do the following

* get back in shape. Over the last 14 months I've put on about 20 lbs of flab while losing maybe 10 lbs of muscle. My energy level isn't what it used to be and I'm generally lethargic. It’s time to get back in shape while I'm young enough for it to be relatively easy.

* Purse a promotion to a supervisor position at the firm I work for. If I don't get it by year’s end get ready to look elsewhere.

* Be financially responsible and pay all my bills on time every time.

* have fun!

2012 is when (I'm hoping) things should start to finally turn around for me. Lots of big stuff happening this year

*Graduate with finance degree in December and hope to have job lined up before then (although things are still not quite looking up)

*Start the long slog towards gaining the prevailing professional designation in my field

*Continue to save money up for new car and for real estate acquisition in not too distant future, hoping there is a market correction soon as the real estate market here is still somewhat overvalued.
