Audi seems to be impressed with the BMW X6 that they are working on their own competitor.

Volkswagen Group design chief Walter de’ Silva told Automotive News Europe that the company has signed off on Audi’s X6 rival, dubbed the Q6 by the media.

“We will definitely launch a sportier crossover in between the Q7 and Q5,” de’ Silva said.

De' Silva also said that Audi is still deciding whether to add a smaller SUV, likely named the Q4, to fit between the Q5 and Q3. The Q4 would compete with the upcoming BMW X4, which was confirmed by BMW’s CEO Norbert Reithofer, to come out in 2014.
