What phone do you have? I used to just have a normal cell phone and a blackberry storm for work. I got tired of carying two devices and the blackberry sucked so I got the I phone 4S. It's been life changing. I turned in my work BB and added my work email to the I phone. I'm a bit of an app/media whore and need to be careful how much spend on itunes.

So what are you packin? Droid, I phone, BB or plain jane cell?

Motorola Droid. Been happy w/ it....thinking about the Droid Razr or Droid 3 for my next one...though I might go to the dark side (iPhone 4s). Depends on what catches my eye in 6 months...

Still have the BB Storm and G1. The BB Storm is the hardest BB to love. I love the BB + touchscreen... hate the abysmal memory and that RIM refused to allow Storms to upgrade to 6.0+... leaving us with a ton of bugs.

If I was working again, I'd swap the G1 for a BB Torch (on T-mob) and the BB Storm for a Droid RAZR (on VZW). Since I do some app tinkering, I would like to keep at least two platforms at my fingertips... though I will admit BB appears to be on the outs.

I'm not a Iphone fan. In fact, it looks downright retro compared to the Droid RAZR. The RAZR is the sweetest toy I've played with in a while. My GF got it, and I am so jealous I'm thinking of selling a kidney to get one. Keep in mind, while a techie, I have rarely had tech envy for ANY product, let alone a smartphone.

Another LG flip. I only want to phone, text, use an alarm & calculator- I don't want/need it to do anything else.

Staring at a tiny screen for a few hours a day is not my idea of livin'.

Replaced my OG Droid with the Droid Razr, and I've been very happy with it so far. Wouldn't mind if it were thicker if it had better battery life, though. It gets through a normal day fine, but if you start playing games, etc, it's going to need plugged in sometime before the day is up.

Battery life has been an on-and-off frustration w/ my Droid...normally I can go a full day on normal use, but my last gig where I was 3 stories underground the constant searching for a 3G signal was draining by noon....would have to take my charger w/ me so I'd have enough battery to read C&G, Twitter and Facebook in the bathroom in the afternoon.. :)

I've had the Droid 18 months, so I figure sometime in the next 6 months or so I'll see what Verizon has that's interesting for my next.

FOG, what bugs does your 4S have? I've had no problems with my phone and admit Siri is not perfect but she is a vast improvment on any other voice recognition software I've sued in the past.

I had the infamous battery life bug, but the update fixed that.

Pretty much 50% of my apps are dysfunctional half the time.

It gets SUPER confused transitioning from wireless networks to 3G

It also gets confused multi-tasking with certain apps.

Siri is half retarded at least half the time... Part of that is my southern accent, but part of it is the $h!ty AT&T network that I swore I wouldn't stick with but did.

In fact, all my bugs could be AT&Ts fault (since they suck harder than a new Hoover in a dust bin) but for some reason I decided not to go back with VZW because I wanted to keep my grandfathered unlimited data (Not sure why I did that -- SWORE I was going to go back to VZW this time around)

It was an incredible pain in the ass to get it activated (Spent 14 hours or so trying to pre-order. Then spent the first night at the Apple store trying to get it activated and despite knowing many of the geniuses had to make ANOTHER trip to the AT&T store the next day to activate...

<--- Probably going to look hard at Droid next time.

Samsung Galaxy S II Courtesy of Drew. Love the device, but hate the "phone." How complex and retrogressional operations in a smart-phone be?

LG EnV Touch for the next few days. Touch screen went out a few months ago, then I busted the touch screen after that, which was only good for being able to see who was calling/texting me without opening the phone anyways.

I will be trading it in on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus when it comes out (rumored to be Dec 8th and if not, definitely by Dec 15th). That phone is going to blow all other phones away.

Being unemployed for like forever I've been reluctant to spend any more cash than I must. But I've left my Net10 LG candy bar, I loved the lack of contract , using all celltowers, roll over min.s, and running a week on a charge.

I bought old tech but hey it was cheap, HTC Hero Droid from Krogers on sale now for $89. Uses Sprint, I buy a $20 credit service last 90 days. That gets me a whole 100 min or texts(I DON'T TEXT) on the free monthly plan. I also receive loyalty credits for every $100 purchased to the tune of 20 free calls plus they give you credit of 50 pts for each Rx from the Pharmacy even the $4 scripts. The mins roll over as do the free ones. Then I tied it to my Google Talk service and bought the GrooVe IP app($5) that allows you to talk for free using WiFi or data. Cost per month of$6.67.

At home I have a new Magic Jack+ and pay $34.95 a mo for 10mb a sec from TW. Yeah I'm cheap but I can do anything I need to and I roll over mins every month and have to use up free mins to keep from losing them (there's a 100 min cap on free mins)

I upgraded my 3GS yesterday to a new 4S. It's not revolutionary to me, but it's definitely evolutionary.

Then again, the only thing that was revolutionary to me about the 3GS when I first got it was that I was consolidating my iPod touch and cellphone into one device. I was already familiar with iOS from the first iPod touch I had bought, so it was nothing new to me at all.

Anyway, I snagged mine from Target for only $85 bucks with tax after trading in my 3GS (otherwise, it would've been $185). What shocked me was that they actually paid me about what I paid for the 3GS a year and a half ago with a contract.

I had the infamous battery life bug, but the update fixed that.

I bought mine with the latest update and my battery life has left me pretty disappointed, to be honest. When it was first booted up and turned on, the battery life meter indicated 67%. It was brought up to 100% last night while I transferred my contacts and settings from my old iPhone using it's latest backup file and transferred my essential artists over from my iTunes library. As of right now, I have 21% left. That's 24 hours standby and around 7 and a half hours of continuous usage. That only matches what the worn-out battery in the 3GS was capable of. I can remember my 3GS going for 48 hours on standby and twice as long for usage when I first got it.

Maybe using that backup file from my 3GS is to blame. I highly doubt it, though. Maybe turning off iCloud would help, too, since I don't have any use for that particular service (Apple sort of forces you into it, which I also don't care for).

Pretty much 50% of my apps are dysfunctional half the time.

Mine have been working fine so far. Maybe I have less apps than you do ...

It gets SUPER confused transitioning from wireless networks to 3G.

It also gets confused multi-tasking with certain apps

Haven't ran into that issue yet. Going from Edge to 3G is pretty non-dramatic. Mine multitasks better than my 3GS did.

Siri is half retarded at least half the time... Part of that is my southern accent, but part of it is the $h!ty AT&T network that I swore I wouldn't stick with but did.

Siri cooperates with what degree of twang I have. I can't chew gum and talk to it at the same time, though. I might as well have my mouth packed full of sludge.

I do wish I could've dropped AT&T for Verizon, though.

In fact, all my bugs could be AT&Ts fault (since they suck harder than a new Hoover in a dust bin) but for some reason I decided not to go back with VZW because I wanted to keep my grandfathered unlimited data (Not sure why I did that -- SWORE I was going to go back to VZW this time around.

Unlike you I had no real reason to stick with AT&T other than the bill was a few bucks cheaper than what it would be on Verizon and Sprint (I have the cheap ass $15 a month data plan for my iPhone; Verizon and Sprint's plans are more expensive and I need to pinch every penny I can).

It was an incredible pain in the ass to get it activated (Spent 14 hours or so trying to pre-order. Then spent the first night at the Apple store trying to get it activated and despite knowing many of the geniuses had to make ANOTHER trip to the AT&T store the next day to activate...

Fourteen hours for preorder? Holy hell ...

<--- Probably going to look hard at Droid next time.

You know, I was thinking of a Droid but then the whole Carrier IQ $h! came to light. At least on the 4S it doesn't keep an extensive record of what the hell you're doing and you can turn that $h! off.

The 14 hour issue was AT&Ts fault.

They had hard coded our previous address into their system and Apples order screen would let us reserve the phones, but not check out without sending them to the previous address. After talking to Apple and getting an "I have no idea" answer, we called the bank and made sure things were straight there. Then it was off to Apple again; twice, where one skilled associate knew what the problem was and promptly sent us to an AT&T rep that could help.

When we received the phones, my fiances activated with no problem but mine wouldn't activate for ANYTHING. We headed to the Apple store (we have friends who work there, and we were going to go buy new cases anyway) and after 5 hours of consulting with the Geniuses and an AT&T rep and switching out phones, sim cards and basically doing a rain dance (where one phone worked, the other pone worked, one phones number was ringing the other phone, neither phone worked, etc.) we were told that AT&T was experiencing a backlog and because we pre-ordered instead of purchasing at the store, we were at the end of the line (which in itself is bull$h!, but whatever). The next MORNING I wake up to find that my 3G is re-activated and my 4S is still null. So, we head to the AT&T store where a rep *finally* figures out that something else was hard coded into our plan that was not allowing us to activate both lines....

FINALLY, my 4S worked.

Nothing Fancy, LG Rumor 2. I'll tell you what it's a durable little phone. Survived being under a snow bank for almost 2 weeks and still works without issue. I like the qwerty keyboard for exiting, and it can surf the web, actually is pretty decent once you get Opera Mini. At some point I'd like an Optimus V, but I'm in no rush.

Plain old iPhone 4. Nothing fancy, no learning curve, as good of a camera as most point-and-shoots. Nice, functional apps. There was supposed to be Antennagate but I've never experienced any problems.

edit: One downside: it doesn't work with SYNC's audible text feature. If I were to upgrade, SYNC treats Siri as an incoming call, so then I could both send and receive texts... which is pretty cool.

I picked up a new BB Curve 9300 for 100 bucks all in. It'll tide me over until my contract expires next winter. By then, I'm expecting I'll be choosing between a new Blackberry touchscreen or a Windows Phone.

I'm getting the Samsung Galaxy Nexus tomorrow. Been waiting for so long for this phone, knowing the end is near is going to kill me. It's going to be hard to concentrate at work tomorrow!

GFs had the Droid RAZR for 2 weeks and its still awesome. Only problem so far is battery life... with her usage, its barely lasting all day. A heavy user would have to plug it in more than once a day. I'm still tweaking the thing to try to extend the battery life.

Otherwise, it just has every feature one can think of... or a decent app for it... and runs seamless and fast... killer fast on 4G. It streams music (or files) off your computer at home and even adds lyrics to the music playback... without me doing anything special and with performance as if I was doing it local... I do kind of wish it had stereo external speakers, though.
